Still it was fairly certain that the damage Dave had done within VH was "irreparable." We will see if Live's relationship has been damaged beyond repair. Who knows what would happen down the line if Ed and Chad cross paths, maybe after TGF and Ed had success on their own terms.

Van Halen has yet to put together a sustained reunion that actually meant something (IE: a full album of great new music) and more recently the band doesn't have the same bassist. I don't think any of us would want a Live reunion like the ones Van Halen has had.

I'm not gonna fuss, because all I've ever wanted from Ed, CT, CG and PD was more rock and roll. I think we as LIVE fans are very fortunate and have been spoilt lately by all the guys (Ed included, even though his stuff isn't for me).

We were all so angry and down after LIVE split or went on a break or whatever, and now we have all this great stuff ahead of us with this great new rock music, from TGF at least, and interaction with the band on so many levels now, and a world tours! It's all just, wow!

I've been quiet-ish on the boards for the past few weeks, and having read a few hostile posts and then seen KM's response, put things in perspective - WE are the lucky ones to have this great music. EK has his own thing and his own fans and that's great. A lot of us (myself included), don't like what he has put out, neither the way he has distanced himself from his ex-band mates of almost 3 decades - but that aside, TGF has been the plus in all this - we have got the raw, intense and passionate rock and roll we were wanting to hear for 10 years. And now with this SS unreleased stuff, whether it's Mall Rat and Photograph again or not ain't the point, the fact that we are finally getting some of this stuff, slowly but surely, is a great gesture in its own right.

Frankly, I can't help but thank CT, CG and PD for remembering the fans - because they didn't really have to. And I have also become quite comfortable with the fact that KM and SH can be spoken of in the same terms, with the work and effort they bring to TGF.

The last phrase is awesome, R. Really. THEY DID NOT HAVE TO. But CHad T in fact NEVER EVER forgot about his fans, letting us know what was going on in his and the band's live, having online diaries and blogs and what not. I really am honored that I am a fan of his, although to the fullest I could feel this only lately

No, No, No, No and No. It wouldn't be perfect. It would be a total mismatch.

The Live we knew and love died as soon as the label fucked things up during the V era. That started the band implosion and things were NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER the same after that.

Ever since Chad's blog, I've been wondering how 'Ecstatic Fanatic' would have been different from 'V'. Hopefully, we get some "new" songs from that session as Chad said that Ed wrote some of his best songs for it.

The biggest and most important difference in my opinion, irrespective of the content of the album, would have been its purpose, and how the audience was told to interpret it. It wouldn't have been HEY HERE'S AN ALBUM THAT COUNTS FOR US AND WE LOVE THE FUCK OUT OF EVERYTHING ABOUT IT, DON'T YOU? It would have been "hey, here's a little something different, off the fly, a quick little experiment, not really a proper studio album. Thoughts?"

World of difference.

Yeah totally. Just a band broadening their horizons for themselves, for the fans. They wouldn't have had all that style make-over shit either. I wonder if the fat cats told ed to grow his hair?
