No offense to Australia, but I kind of view it as the minor leagues when it comes to rankings and whether or not an artist has made it.

Like I said, I've never heard it on the radio in the US, but I'm glad Ed has found some airtime somewhere.

I'm sure Australians feel the same when a band makes it in the US.

If they do they'd be sadly mistaken. No offense to Australia, but if a band makes it in Australia they'd come here to try and really make it big. The US is the market everyone would love to be successful in and you know it.

C'mon Nick - really! Could you be realistic for at least a minute?

One of the reasons that the rest of the world hates Americans is because of egocentric statements like your previous post.

If you live in Australia, I am pretty sure most follow bands that are big in your country. There are some bands huge in the US that never make it big in Australia.
Just because US is a huge market, doesn't mean that if you make it there the rest of the world gives a crap.

Not a John Kerry fan, but would that really be a bad thing? Hopefully Senator Kerry would be kind enough to share some of his huge fortunes, and his wife's, with Nick...... lol.gif

Egocentric - more like fact. It's so obvious I don't even understand why I'm replying to anything you say on the issue.

Name one band who would choose to be massively successful in Australia over being massively successful in the US and I'll point out which band is a bunch of fools! It's simple economics.

You both kinda have valid points. Tim McGraw was a total NOBODY here until he was publicized earlier this year and is now in the middle of a pretty successful Australian tour...yeah, I know he is country but I believe he is pretty huge in the US.

There are lots of Aussie bands that never even attempt the US so how would we know? But you're right, if given the opportunity, many would love to crack the US market. Although sometimes the US is a bit slow...AC/DC were huge here and in the UK before the US caught on lol.gif And how long did it take you to realise the massiveness of The Wiggles not to mention Kylie Minogue? See what I mean about being slow...

They are a children's musical group. They played 12 sold out shows at Madison Square Gardens a few years back. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wiggles
