That chart shows why Live was able to have that longevity. Live's best work was from 91-00, no matter how many fans took to the Edko show since TDTH.

According to wikipedia these are the peak numbers Live albums managed to achieve in the Netherlands:

Throwing Copper – 5 - PLATINUM (80.000+)
Secred Samadhi – 4 - PLATINUM (80.000+)
The Distance to Here – 2 - DOUBLE PLATINUM (160.000+)
V – 1 - PLATINUM (80.000+)
Birds of Pray – 1 - GOLD (40.000+)
SFBM - 1 - unknown (probably below 40k mark)

There, I've added the album sales figures of the albums in The Netherlands to paint a better picture.

I like the TGF album, and the only reason I hope it does well commercially is so the band sticks around....I would suggest seeing them in concert this time around, because my gut tells me they are going to go the way of Army of Anyone.....one and done. Filter and STP fans were just as excited for that album a few years ago, and it flopped. I expect this album to do the same, unfortunately.

I somehow think that if they do not chart successfully, they stick around anyway

I have no doubt in my mind that they won't be successful. The more people that hear their music the more people will buy it. What surprises me is that not much about them has been mentioned in Australia yet. As soon as they get some airplay and a bit of promotion, they will go off! Mark my word.

I'm glad you think that, but again, AoA fans said the same thing.

According to the Billboard 200 charts for the week of 25th September 2010, TGF hasn't appeared yet.

This is accurate Dan, according to Billboard Top 200. Latest chart of 9/25 is void of the TGF entry.

This is not clear to me. Billboard says “week 25th of September”. What does this mean exactly? Which dates do they count?

Does Billboard calculate in itunes/amazon yet?

Just curious as the numbers towards the 200s get fairly low, so if I am reading it correctly it doesn't seem like it would have been too difficult to chart.

That is last weeks chart. This weeks will be posted on Thursday. I would bet that TGF makes the second half of the chart.

A sobering fact. Hopefully TGF can succeed.
