Hmmm, I'm assuming you mean me. Nothing like getting hazed on my 1st day. Old habit from other boards. Regardless, I'll take my lumps if I must.

Lat.... Whoops

No problemo, matey, just looks a bit weird to me smile.gif

I was just wondering why 'Tredecim' and 'Nothing but love' are switched on this chart compared to the album track listing. All other songs are in the proper order except for those two.

And I actually can't believe that 'All I hear' currently has zero votes!

It's a song that takes some spins to really love, I think.

After editing out the first 30 seconds of 'closer' it would have to be the best song for me at this moment thumbsup.gif

I actually like the slow beginning, it makes you go WTF! when the drums explode.

I've waited to post here because I thought the answer would eventually come to me and I would be able to pick a favorite.

Well, I can't. I couldn't if there was a loaded gun to my head.

I am more excited to hear these songs live in concert than I have ever been about hearing any band play any songs ever before - and that includes Live.

Fish, I am salivating to the fact that I will see these songs performed in concert. I haven't been this excited to see a show in ages and I have seen many a concert!!

I have been listening to All I Hear a lot since you attempted the lyrics...It's awesome.

All of the tracks are fantastic.

Hard to pick a favorite, even after holding off so the album could sink in. I was between Honest Man, Closer, and Crying Time. Went with Crying Time as it just seems to have so much emotion packed into it. Love the entire album though! So pumped to hear these songs in person.

It's interesting to me that so many people like Closer so much. Not a bad tune but I don't find it to have the uniqueness and personality that so many other TGF songs have. It rocks but just has never really caught me. I don't see it as a successful radio single at all.

My favs are Appetite, Honest Man, TROY, Crying Time and I really dig Guilty Fever due to it's 70's-ish glam nod. It also reminds me of something newer in the vein of Eagles of Death Metal's campy Cherry Cola.

It's really hard to pick because they are all really good songs, but for this week it's been All I Hear and TROY, I'm sure after I see them Sunday it will be something else.

It's hard for me to pick a fave song on this album. When listening to it the first time, Honest Man, Appetite and Sing stood out to me. What I love about this album is that I get a sense from listening to it that these guys are having a great time just playing their hearts out. It's just good rock and roll - which is hard to come by these days (at least on the radio, that is).

I think Appetite being my favorite stems partially because of the two shows I've seen. You hear it start, realize all that's soon to follow, and chills just go up your spine.

My favorite song off of the album is"Sing", but I also really like "What's Wrong" and "Crying Time".

After a lot of listens on this album, my opinion is as follows.

The album is great. Doesn't flow as well as it could though. Starts off hard, drags just a bit, goes ito some ballads and then roars at the finish. I think the song arrangement is a little bit off in the context of how this album flows.

Seeing them in concert gives me a much different perspective. Guilty Fever, one of my least favorite on the album, utterly fucking blew me away last night. I was astounded at how heavy it was. The performance of this song ranks amongst the best I've ever seen. Two friends I brought to the show from work said the exact same thing before I got the chance.

Show also reinforced something I thought before. Sing is hands down the most powerul song on the album. Listening to both songs in concert completely reinforced this. I know that Crying Time has it's genuine meaning and I can respect that, but in my opinion, the two songs aren't even close. To me, it's like comparing a ferrari to a Pinto.

In concert, Sing lasted over 8 minutes. There is an instrumental, actually 2 inserted into this song, that made the hair on my neck stand up. Sean comes to the front of this stage and hits that lick and it's fucking utterly dynamite. I would have cried had there not been other people around. The second instrumental lasts about 2 full minutes and REEKS of power and emotion.

Especially when Kevin screams the passage..."I'm barely breathing and still I....step to the stage heart beating....the lights descend upon me...." Fucking wow. I never thought in a million years that a song I loved so much straight off could grow on me but it still is. I have my IPOD set to that song and repeat it 3 or 4 times before I even listen to anything else.

Sing kills anything else on this album in my opinion. It has that Purple Rain Prince solo feel to it. The guitar sounds like it is singing the words to you and crying out at the same time....you ever get that from a song? This is quite possibly the best ballad I've heard in my entire life.
