Were you at that show or did you pull this off YouTube?

If you were there, do you have any comments to share about the show? Good attendance numers?

My friend said the show was packed at the Chameleon. No official attendance estimates though.

I'll be sure to get the official count, and find out exactly what capacity is at The Chameleon. I have a friend that works there.

I've been to the Chameleon multiple times & that felt like more than 400 ppl. Would love an official count. Just ran into Ed outside the Altar Bar in Pittsburgh. He & Ramy were walking along. He seems to be in a great mood (its a beautiful day here) so I'm excited for tonight!!

Hello all, first time poster here. Long-time Live fan and board-lurker, though. Was at the Altar Bar in Pittsburgh last night and figured I'd give a quick review.

Started out great, getting to chat and get a pic with Ed before the show in the parking lot - talk about good timing! He seemed to be in a great mood.

Played all of the solo album except 'In your Light' and 'Rome'. The solo material came across very well live, new appreciation for 'Fire on the Mountain' after last night.

The Live songs went over very well, as expected (I Alone, All Over You, Heaven, LC, The Distance (great!), Dance With You, StD, Dolphin's Cry).

As far as the performance, Ed's voice sounded as good as ever and his band played very well despite some technical problems with Ed's acoustic and for some reason they swapped bass drums.

I saw Live in Cleveland last year and regardless of what went down I think the break is for the better as everyone seems happier and Ed had more energy and seemed to be enjoying himself a lot more (as do the TGF guys who I plan on seeing in November as well).

So, overall, great show

Got some pics from the front row, will see how they turned out and maybe post later.

Most songs in the setlist on this site have links to video of each song on the list. Video of each song performed by Ed solo or with band backup.

http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/ed-kowalczyk...pa-3d5cd63.html

I hadn't seen many of these videos. If an old site to you, sorry. If something new....Enjoy!

Who is the female vocalist on Dance With You?

Talk about getting sad ...... Dolphin's Cry on this site is with Live. Just hearing and watching them as they were.......... cry.gif What a band! I sure hope this breakup has a happy ending for all in the long run.

Roughly 400 people were there Friday night, with a capacity of 800.

LOOK, in the 3rd image there is a spot over Ed's face. Often times these can be explained as paranormal activities. I think this one is the "Ghost of Ed's Career"!

as for review of the Chameleon show (I've been driving home from Pittsburgh all day...traffic sucks) I was really excited about the show & in no way was I disappointed. I really enjoy the Alive songs in concert & I didn't notice a huge difference in the Live songs that were played (from when played w CCP I mean). The Chameleon was HOT - more than usual & Ed & most of the crowd were sweaty & gross (those us of near the stage). I thought Ed's voice was solid & probably would've given the show a 7 of 10. The effect of having a backing band instead of a collaborative band is a general decrease of energy, which is actually probably the biggest difference I noticed between Ed solo w band & Live.
& then Sunday came & I ran into Ed & Ramy before the show. Both in great moods & very gracious (no pun intended I promise) to those of us who chatted w them. I'd never been to the altar bar before & love the small stage & intimate feel. Ed almost stepped on my fingers twice during the show while I leaned against the stage. The setlist was the same as Friday but there was sooo much more joy on Eds face. & maybe because it wasn't a furnace in there he seemed to have much more energy. He smiled the whole time, even when his acoustic wouldn't agree to be tuned & Ramy had to have his bass drum replaced (also later needed I think a snare drum replaced). He joked a lot, & sheepishly made fun of himself when he forgot the opening line to Heaven. The guitarist at one point played with a violin bow which I enjoyed, but my friend said she missed the edginess of CT's guitar. The bassist & guitarist were tucked back on stage as you can see in those great pics & that was weird for me, but again is part of the backing band dynamic. I'm still getting used to that dynamic (I'd seen Live 30 times so I'm used to CT stomping around. Sonically I don't dislike the new musicians take on the Live songs at all. In fact I liked it all a lot. Ed's incredible energy & the obvious fun he was having made the show a 9 of 10. I had to stop comparing it to Live shows because they are different but equally awesome.
After saying all of this I do need to say that there are some songs I don't think these musicians should ever play...Gas He'd comes to mind...in fact most of SS should probably not be played (unless I'm grossly underestimating them). (also, when I go see TGF I really hope Kevin leaves some songs alone.)
Overall I had a great weekend & was thrilled to have the two shows bookend my fun. I will absolutely see them again.

I notice a lot of posts between Nick and TGF fans about what the TGF fans consider as Nick's negativity and desire to attack TGF. Is this post any different? Another thread intended to cover one of Ed's shows in a positive light and it brings out the possible demise of Ed's career?

Admittedly, the post made me chuckle at your "observation", and, maybe I shouldn't take it seriously. Actually, I really don't, but I will bet there are those that will.

NICE PICTURES, by the way, gavinguitar ................ guitar.gif

Also, just wondering ....................

Would it maybe be better to do like they did with the European tour? For both TGF and ED. Post each show in a different thread?

I, for one, like going back and reading about particular shows, and with them all in one huge thread, it is harder to keep track of each show? We will likely soon have a short review of the Chicago show and I'd like to go individual show thread on that, so wonder what everyone thinks?
