Oh please, it is harmless internet fun. I love the drama of this place.

The problem I have with this thread is that the topic creator knows how it is going to end, instead of "not caring."

QUOTE(Aitkens @ Sep 17 2010, 11:45 am) *

Nick, you are the most ignorant asshole that I've ever had the unfortunate privilege of being associated with. One day I hope to meet you, so that I might take out my frustrations, however it will be a day that you shouldn't look forward to.

Okay this is a little bit crazy.

It is going to take more time for TGF to catch on then Ed because Ed already had a following from LIVE. He even promotes himself as Ed from LIVE so alot of people buy the album for that reason. TGF is something completely new. It will take time. I still stick to what I said before where is will take a year for a large following to build for TGF. By that time Ed will have slipped into the world of the forgotten. Just wait and see. TGF will also chart better in the US than Europe as well. Most of Ed's cult is in the Netherlands area.

Yet also in this thread there is a quote from briburge: its so funny when all you ed haters get mad a nick when he makes a post like that when you piss on ed any chance you get. i like the the gracious few and i kind of hope the cd tanks because you guys are such a bunch of slap dicks.

**************************

I know many of you TGF fans don't like Nick's posts. My guess is that he doesn't like a lot of your negativity in Ed's threads either.

The point by Briburge is well-taken. If you don't want people, Nick included, coming into The Gracious Few threads with negative, baited or antagonistic posts or threads, then why do you continue to go over to Ed's threads and bash him every chance you can? Fair play that posters should be able to do the same on TGF if they so please?

I'd rather see everyone keep their negativity to a minimum and let the posts be positive.

HOWEVER, I know that isn't likely to happen and, in a way, I'm with thefunkyredcaboose in that the arguments and debate are what keeps everyone coming back, yes? My guess is that if it all became peaceful and "let's all get along", the site would die down very quickly. So, I guess the verbal fisticuffs will continue to fly........... tongue2.gif

I like the drama but I do think it gets too personal around here sometimes, whether that be people taking things too personally or people issuing personal attacks.

I agree, though I couldn't tell you where the proverbial line is. Both sides though have posted things that make me want to slam my head on my desk. banghead.gif

Let's not forget that we are writing on an internet message board, to people that we don't know, about other people we don't know who make music that we've listened to. There is no need to get angry or frustrated. What's the point. Why are we so attached to our views? Here is something that I read recently, which I think applies to these arguments:

"The causes of any conflict lie in strong attachment to certain views, and the core of Buddha’s teaching is of great help here. All phenomena, in addition to being transient, arise and disappear according to a complex set of conditions. When we apply this truth to conflict, we give up the simplistic, black-and-white picture through which conflict is usually described and perpetuated. Views about the “good guys” and the “bad guys” simply do not correspond to the reality."

Zarko Andricevic, "Peace: How Realistic Is It?"

To be honest, I think this is a pretty great trolling thread from Nick. No way he posted this without a knowing smirk.

Everyone else here thinks you jack off to thoughts of Ed. I just think you jack off to the thought of ruffling everyone's feathers around here.

Guys, if you don't look or respond to the him he'll go away.

If you think about it, he is really the only Ed "lover" who tries to troll the TGF side of things.. be thankful for that at least I guess..
