Is that supposed to be a big surprise? Ed has been tailoring his music and image to older ladies for almost a decade. I believe this is the base cause to why his male fan base abandoned him (with the exception of Nick) and left Live for dead.

I was listening to Overcome this morning and it's unbelievable how much better that song could have been had he not butchered it with his over the top falsetto. He often tried too hard to sound "sexy" and thus lost half his fan base demographic.

Now that is just plain ridiculous dude. How the fuck do you AIM [tailor] music to just older ladies? This has to be the stupidest statement i have seen here yet. Wow.

Hit a little close to home, eh? You tailor music to just older ladies by making it soft, simple, melodic and with cheesy love lyrics. This reminds today's older woman of the sappy love songs of the 50s and 60s but with a modern, "cool" (to you) twist. Don't be offended, making it to half a century and posting on message boards with a white trash BITCH avatar is quite an accomplishment!

I am going to see Ed on Thursday in Chicago if everything works out as planned. Going up with four other Live/Ed fans. I don't think that even I fit into the "just older ladies" demographic and I know the four males driving up with me, ranging in age from 26 to 31 fit that demographic either. Maybe I should tell them we should skip the show since the audience will only be full of older ladies. I'll try to get an audience photo with the trusty cell phone and I'd be willing to bet that the majority of the crowd will be on the younger side as has been the case for most Live shows I've been to in the past.

I am also wondering from the takeover of the start of this thread as to why almost every, if not every, thread posted on Ed's behalf gets turned into a promote TGF and bash Ed thread? If fans of The Gracious Few have confidence in them becoming successful, as many of their supporters on this site seem to have, then why the need to consistently tear down Ed?

I can't prove whether or not most of Ed's followers fit that old lady demographic or whether Ed is purposefully tailoring his music or not doing so on their behalf. What I can say is that it gets very old seeing the consistent "let's rip Ed apart" posts in every thread. I haven't read all of the TGF threads, but I went through a few and I don't see Ed fans going over to bash TGF much.

I wish both Ed and TGF the best. Hope they all continue to have long, financially sound careers in music.

I am not promoting TGF at all in any thread about Ed. I am indeed bashing Ed at every opportunity, because he ruined my favorite band with his selfishness and greed. I was a fan of Ed and LIVE every bit as much for the message as for the music, and the message was these are 4 honest open guys from the middle of nowhere making real rock n roll without the influence of fucked up America. Well, Ed pretty much ruined that image when he stole millions of dollars from his lifelong friends, after giving them an ultimatum about leaving the band if not willing to give him complete control. He's an ego fucking maniac, a hypocrite, and frankly, a criminal. I will bash someone like that at every chance, you bet.

I don't like the fact that every mention of Ed is immediately met with insults and arguments. I don't like it any more than when it is done at TGF's expense. It cheapens the accomplishment of TGF, because I think that a comparison of the music, and the merits of the legal cases and facts around the split-up, speak for themselves at this point. I think that some of us need to pick our hurt feelings up off the floor and move on. TGF is doing great things and I am looking forward. Ed is working hard to promote his career and I don't begrudge him that. I like TGF's music better than Ed's. But I really love Ed's vocals. As of today - right here and right now... and if you tell Kevin that I said this, I will flatly deny it... I enjoy Ed's vocals more. And I like his stage presence and star quality. That's not to say that I don't really like Kevin as the TGF vocalist, and I know that my opinion will change and gravitate more toward Kevin over time.

So that's my soap box speech. Now back to the mud slinging.

Hearing a kick ass set of Run Away, Nobody Knows, Dance With You, Lightning Crashes, and every other new piece of shit song, is like listening to the soundtrack of another made for Lifetime original movie. Hey, Lifetime and Ed share the same demographic!

eh.gif Really - we've come to the point where a link about an appearance by Ed is posted and it gets blasted. I know a lot of people don't like the album and are pissed about some of the stuff being said about him (including myself), but last time I checked this was a Live website and he was the lead singer of the band that was Live.

When it comes down to the Ed vs. TGF fued I just want to let you guys know that I'm here because of Live. I'm interested in what they do (all of them) whether it sucks or not.

Critiquing is great, but it would be great if we could post and read about both without all the blasting. I don't want to see this turn soley into and Ed or TGF board. It should be here for everyone.

Nick - I don't support a lot of the things you do or say but thanks for posting this. It should be here.

Does anyone know if this was an interview or performance? Any footage or info would be great.

I went to the show in Philly tonight and there were more males than females. I think the primary age group was 25-35 years old. I can't believe this is an issue that's even being talked about. Unless you only care about your image, does it really matter if a fanbase is male or female, young or old? You either like the music or you don't. It's as simple as that

Agree, 100%!!!

It's good to see you and a few others posting this here. I want to keep track of Ed and the rest of Live in TGF and am glad this board is staying up so that Ed supporters and TGF supporters can keep all informed.

I am also hopeful that someday, after both have achieved success with their new directions in music, that the wounds will heal and "Live" will once again be performing live as a group.
