I haven't received the email either (I've subscribed to both the TGF and Live mailing lists) but it's awesome that it's finally official.

I hate to come across as ungrateful but these Church Box sessions sound like they'd really benefit from being in FLAC/WAV format or at least 320kbps MP3 encoding. Hopefully Chad and the rest of the band can add more of their thoughts on the sessions as well.

Looking forward to the end of the year!

don't want flack, just FLAC ha ha. Even better would be if it were a physical CD.

A new double cd jewel box with SS Logo and red Churchbox Demo's in dripping red ink would look cool!!!

I assumed the real divide over songwriting came after V, since CT wrote of how V wasn't supposed to be released as a retail album anyway.

I missed this. Is the text of the post still around? I'm very curious about this!

I wonder what OTHER cool stuff we've been missing out on?

And I have to say, why wouldn't a band want to reward their biggest fans with "cool stuff" like this? I mean, why leave it in a vault somewhere if you could make your biggest fans happy?

I'm not saying any particular member of the band was responsible for this stuff being locked up, I just mean in general, why would a band sit on something that their fans would love? Any ideas?

Here are some possible reasons:
1. Waiting for an opportunity to make money from them
2. Unhappy with the quality of the material
3. Don't want to dwell on the past
4. Contractual obligations (the record label owns the material and the band are unable to release it)
5. Waiting for a special occasion (20th anniversary)
6. There's not enough demand
7. Too costly to produce

PS Chad, Patrick and I control the name and trademark of LIVE. We will use all resources of said name and trademark as we see fit. If you do not agree with what we are doing or how we are doing it kindly express your opinions somewhere else and leave this page.

Ouch. That guy is still so angry.

On topic; I'm very interested in this release too. I'm curious if this is supposed to be released to Homespun members only, given they still sell memberships.

Given the nature of the material I don't know if they could charge for it, depending on what label the songs were recorded with.

Well I can't prove otherwise but I know that I hated V for years, and then like a lightswitch it was a great album. Its the strangest thing I know about being a live fan.

V became a greatb album after we heard the sh*t Ed wrote afterwards
