QUOTE(Aitkens @ Sep 14 2010, 6:21 pm) *

Start calling around. That's the game that I had to play.

Seems like it. Still, the face to face interaction can be more fun, especially when I get to give a "bitch, please!" look to the uninformed employees of best buy when they ask "Who's the Gracious Few?"

Edit: Agreed, Aitkens, both that the CDs are selling and the fact that its fucking annoying having to store hop to find a CD.

I've had an ass of a time trying to get a hold of a CD up near Mechanicsburg. Looks like I may just have to settle for my Amazon download until the autographed copy arrives later this week.

Oops! I'm sorry. Hope you didn't go to Best Buy. I bought the last two! I was thinking maybe I should have left one for somebody else. sad.gif

As much as it sucked having to stop in at stores and get denied, and then calling around to find a copy, it's refreshing to know that stores are selling through their quantities. That's a great sign, even if it did piss me off and waste half of my day.

That just means that their quanities were low in the first place, or that some stores didn't order it(like the FYE in my town).

I bet the CD will do decent in the US for one week. It will likely debut in the second half of the Billboard 200.

Dude, I recently drove with some friends to New York and on the way I saw the sign on the interstate for that town. First time I'd ever been through the heart of Pennsylvania. Were there a lot of mechanics in town at the time they decided to name it?

I wouldn't doubt most of these stores, especially the chains, had low quantities. Still, it's a good sign to see the CDs moving.

Hehe I have no idea. Probably, but for all I know the guy who founded the city could have been Bill Mechanic.

It was probably the only two actually! The guy at Best Buy looked up the inventory at every store in Atlanta for the album there were only about 4 stores that even had it and every one had a qty of 2. So like I said, you bought the only two most likely. Just keep spreadin the word thought so they can order more!

Let me say this. I am sure TGF and EMI discussed initial store quantites and them being independent. The stores buy minimum qty's of all new releases from the distribution branches. When the band is new, the hit factor comes from customers requesting the record, promotional play, and basic re-order minimum replenishment stock qty's. Reorders are based on hit songs and other factors, with CD sales being way down and still trending downward and stores having less space for CD's, order qtys are less. I went to FYE in Alpharetta GA (Northpoint Mall), they had 5 copies on the shelf. I purchased 2. I didn't think I'd get out today as I had a lot going on.

I think if the inital orders are depleted and this thing catches on, I think it will sell well digitally and do well with the physical CDs. When the vynil comes out, there will be a demand for the vynil heads who love the sound of the wax, will order it. I want that for the sheer collectibility of it.....i am going to have to get a turntable if I ever want to listen to it. thumbsup.gif

(ps...dont forget CT's interview with fox43 in york saying they are going to start small and build a base......i am sure this factored into the initial cd qty's with EMI)

Dude, seriously? Fuck off back to your Ed threads and concentrate on his boring as fuck shit. Not one single person posting in these threads here likes or respects you one bit. Take a hint and get the fuck lost.

America's hat, always the 2nd fiddle.

Heh, no offense but I'd rather be second fiddle to a hypocrisy filled nation rammed to the tits with beaurocratic bullshit, rapists, murderers, serial killers, rammed to the hilt prisons, drug addicts and war mongering assholes.

I'm honestly sincerely grateful not to be American and not to be born one. I could think of a thousand different places I'd rather live than your first fiddle country brother. eyebrow.gif

For that matter, fuck Canada too.

Just funny hearing Americans making such references about any country when they are the biggest shithole in the world. Again, no offense to any of you yanks specifically, but the shit that goes on over there is fucking embarassing. I'd rather live in France, and we all know what everybody thinks of the french!

Back on topic, fuck off Ned. Regardless of what both albums sell, TGF can be proud and Ed should be utterly embarassed and ashamed of his effort. I just hope the thief makes enough money to pay back what the courts are going to end up making him pay back. Let him sell a million in that case.

A bit back on topic, but Closer is not 'Single of the Week' for iTunes here in Canada....sucks to be the northern neighbour, I guess (but at least we have free health care, but is that a fair trade-off?).

Guess how I live WITHOUT ITUNES AT ALL! lol.gif
