This was also said on the LIVE FB page below what was mailed....in response to some people telling Chad to fuck off and leave Ed alone. There is clearly a divide and will remain a divide. I do believe Ed's response to the suit has left this as it is:

In OFFICIAL LIVE NEWS:

Chad, Patrick and I have dug up the "Church Box" Secret Samadhi demos. We are putting together a nice package that will be available around the holidays. The demos contain two unreleased (to the general public) tracks. Please check www.friendsoflive.com for details in the near future.

Thanks for listening and for your continued support.

CG

PS Chad, Patrick and I control the name and trademark of LIVE. We will use all resources of said name and trademark as we see fit. If you do not agree with what we are doing or how we are doing it kindly express your opinions somewhere else and leave this page. As far as WHO is LIVE....no one but the four original members sat in the rehearsals and writing sessions during the years when LIVE was a true band. No ONE person can claim to be the band or can take full credit justly. If you are a true fan of this band then it is outright wrong to deny what Chad, Patrick and myself contributed. We were as much a part of the creative force as our former lead singer. Period.

Wow! Can't wait for Churchbox! That is cool that CCP own the Live trademark. I wonder if they have the ability to release all of their material, including studio tracks. Chad Gracey with the head on response! That some strong words from the CCP camp. Gotta assume he means up until V was recorded.

I think we'll get a lot of things like the CT letter stated. The CB SS demo might be a complete gem, I have been waiting to hear this a long time........if it's in the same awesomeness platform like DMDP was, then we'll all be very very happy.

what piques my curiousity is how Chad thinks at least in part that these demos are better than SS. I mean, SS was an awesome fully mastered album, one of the best albums to me, this had better really kick ass to beat that

I assumed the real divide over songwriting came after V, since CT wrote of how V wasn't supposed to be released as a retail album anyway.

I got this email at work today. I know Chad said it was coming, but with him you have to see it to believe it.

Now that it's officially announced the Church Box demos release is the best news I've heard from Live in over a decade (NectarDan - the DMDP release you put on was sweet as well) and I'm very excited for it.

Based on how Chad described the recording session I expect that the Church Box recordings may actually be better than the album itself, which would be like gold to me!

I cannot wait to hear this and talk about it with you guys!

but in his blog years ago Chad mentioned how he was upset that Ed hadn't approached him to help make V, plus in Chads recalling of all recordings, he was stretched by TDTH. Who knows. I think Ed was gaining ground on the creative side from V onwards.

I haven't received the email either (I've subscribed to both the TGF and Live mailing lists) but it's awesome that it's finally official.

I hate to come across as ungrateful but these Church Box sessions sound like they'd really benefit from being in FLAC/WAV format or at least 320kbps MP3 encoding. Hopefully Chad and the rest of the band can add more of their thoughts on the sessions as well.

Looking forward to the end of the year!

That's when the old Live sold out to market forces and created the divide from their soulful center.

Interesting, I had forgotten about that.

I wonder if he meant with the basic song form, because a lot of the music sounds influenced by the other guys which the later albums didn't.

Well I can't prove otherwise but I know that I hated V for years, and then like a lightswitch it was a great album. Its the strangest thing I know about being a live fan.
