I wish we could take SFBM off the Live catelog! Let Ed have that garbage since he is fighting so hard for it. Just an embarrasement to call that a Live record.

The "Black Mountain" part of the title is cool, but the "Songs from" part is dumb, IMO. I'd rather it give a feeling/idea rather than refer to it as being songs/music.

I'm gonna add my list here too:

1. Throwing Copper
2. The Distance to Here
3. Mental Jewelry
4. Secret Samadhi
5. Birds of Pray
6. Songs from Black Mountain
7. V

Despite one dud, TC will always be the best album. TDTH and MJ are both standout, and full of hits. SS is great, but I don't listen as much. BoP and SFBM both have several gems, but the second halves of both are lacking. And lastly, V just doesn't capture me. It has some good songs, but also some odd ones too. That's why it's ranked last for me.

As I wrote about in the "Worst song" thread, I just don't like "Stage". I love the rest of the album, but that song just doesn't work for me. I know others disagree, but we all have our faves/dislikes.

I second that. I mean we see his back looking at mt charred on the album cover.....that really pissed me off when it was simply him and not the rest of the band. Calling it like I see it.....I knew I wouldn't even like the songs simply seeing the sell out copy of the TC album sleeve...personally he should have tried to photoshop his face the TC artwork and release that....LOL Ok i am going in the other direction. tongue.gif

You know what I hate about that album (other than the music)? The fact that somebody decided to use the font and color that was used on the Throwing Copper album for the band name.

EDIT: Based on curiosity, I went looking at the Wikipedia entry for SFBM and found this crap in the "background" section,

QUOTE
Live signed with Epic Records in 2005, having left Radioactive after the release of their 2003 album, Birds of Pray.[1] Singer Ed Kowalczyk explained that Songs from Black Mountain is in the same vein as Birds of Pray, "The album itself kind of took its lead from where we were with Birds of Pray, which was just a really basic, stripped [approach]...It's just amazing. It's just a great album and the excitement level of [Epic] and the band, everybody is just really pretty blown away by it."[2]

Somebody needs to go graffiti that entry...
