From Chad's blog:

QUOTE
After two very long days of rehearsing we have worked up some really, really fun material for the May/US dates. I'm betting many of you will be thrilled with the selections. I would tell you what we worked on but that would spoil the surprise of those lucky few who got tickets....sorry if you don't have one.

Can you believe it's been five years since we launched a word tour. I don't count anything shorter than a 6 month run, so that means we haven't done the US like this since the Live/Counting Crows run after Distance. Fuck!

With more than 35 songs in the current batch were more than ready for some extra long shows for the fans who show us the most love. SFBM, AWAKE, BOP, V, TDTH, SS, TC and MJ all represented! See you soon or it could be another five years.......

This should be great! Now hopefully nobody will be complaining about them playing identical sets every night...and we should have some really special shows to look forward to.

This sounds fucking fantastic.

I just hope that they REALLY do change up their setlist. By that, I mean that adding "I Walk the Line" and "Iris" to last year's setlist, while good to see at recent shows, would be a disappointment if they simply stopped there.

yep I definatley hope this is a real shake up .. so let's just recap if say about 35 songs on offer how many new inclusions can that leave? I'm trying to think of how much new inclusions there could be if we already have regulars and semi regulars (ones that still have been played sparingly over the past couple of years) of:

all over you/STD/TSUFL/dolphins/heaven/i alone/W,D/Dance with you/shite towne/BOG/Operation spirit/PLOTR/Iris/Waitress/Walk the line/RTTW/Turn my head/Lightning Crashes/Run away/Overcome

+ all 12 SFBM songs, as it wouldn't be a surprise to hear more from the album once it's US release is done

that is 32 songs right there .. he did say 35 but I'm guessing not much more than that, so unless quite a few of those are being dropped then I still don't know if it'll be a huge change.

haha yes I had to look for the negative side to all of this but hey tongue.gif
Good to see that there is some planned change happening and that they are rehearsing again .. like Dan said - more samadhi stuff!

I left him a comment a few days back asking for Ghost and Fishes. If I get either of those--or both--I'll be extremely satisfied. But who knows...

I also asked both him and Adam to get All I Need on the set as well...just because I want to see Adam rock out on the keytar. That would also make my day, haha.

The fact that they've rehearsed is unique in itself as they've often stated that they don't normally practice at all. It's exiting to hear they have so many songs to choose from now, that must mean they will really be changing the setlists this time around. thumbsup.gif

Songs they have been playing recently and pretty sure bets for the new tour.

MJ:
1. Operation Spirit
2. Pain Lies on the Riverside
3. Beauty of Gray

TC:
4. Lightning Crashes
5. I Alone
6. All Over You
7. Selling the Drama
8. White Discussion
9. Iris
10. POD (Not recent, but almost a lock to be one of the 35)

SS:
11. Lakini's Juice
12. Turn My Head

TDTH:
13. The Dolphin's Cry
14. Run to the Water
15. They Stood up for Love
16. Dance With You

V:
17. Overcome

BOP:
18. Heaven
19. Run Away

SFBM:
20. The River
21. Mystery
22. Show
23. Sofia
24. Love Shines

Cover:
25. I Walk The Line

That leaves a little over ten songs to play with. My guess or stabs in the dark for adds are:

MJ:
26. Brother's Unaware

TC:
No new adds

SS:
27. Rattlesnake
28. Ghost

TDTH:
29. The Distance
30. Sparkle

V:
31. Nobody Knows

BOP:
No new adds

SFBM:
32. Night of Nights
33. Wings
34. Get Ready

Covers:
35. Running to Stand Still
36. All Along The Watchtower

I think I'm pretty close, but then again I could be way off. Maybe they'd add one or two extra songs from SFBM, not add any new songs from V or bring back Like I Do. I'm interested to see the final result.
