If Ed asked for an ultimatum, or wanted to control his music, or wanted to sell out, or change his mind about his message in such a way that was insincere, or signed a contract, or asked for a lead singer bonus, it is debatable that Ed wasn't being diplomatic or fair or loyal to his friends.

As for Ed being friends with hsi band? What a joke. We all know where being Ed's lifelong friends gets you. didn't seem to matter to guys he was "friends" with for 25 years.
