QUOTE(SinfulEyes @ Sep 9 2010, 12:46 pm) *

I was giving V a spin last night and it really struck me how bad Ed is a sell-out and a hypocrite.

His new music SCREAMS from the top of the lungs of mainstream and pop yet in People Like You, he claims he is "pissing in the mainstream (of music)"

And people around here wonder why most Live fans "diehards" have jumped the Ed ship. I've gotta say that the ones who still support him and consume his music and coffee paraphernalia are definitely hypocrites themselves.

How do you feel about this?

To me, Ed is a hypocrit for a very simple reason. He has preached about love and god for a very long time now. Some of the intracacies may have changed, but his overall message has remained the same. Peace, love and everything that goes along with that.

Then he turns around to his lifelong friends and steals from them. I do not know all the details, but basic logic and common sense tells me that Ed has done much much more than this to his friends as well. Chad G and Pat D are not bad people. They do not strike me as spiteful, nor the type to mreact this way to anything other than something incredibly bad and detrimental to the relationship of these four guys.

Ed has gone against everything he has ever stood for in his message to all of us. He has consistently preached one thing, then turned around and done something that goes completely against all of that. For that reason, he is not only a hypocrit, but a disgusting human being in my book. I would not give him five dollars for food if he were dying of cancer and starving to death. I have zero respect for people like him. I have just as little respect for anybody who continues to support him. End of story.

Wings is a good song. I like Night of Nights and Show. The rest was pure shit. None of it was really Live, it was Ed.

I sort of like Sofia. I think it could have been a good single actually.

I agree that his new music is crappy and that it wouldn't make sense to support his current act. But basic logic and common sense tells me to determine whether Ed definitely stole from his bandmates before I can accuse him of that. And you're saying he has preached one thing, and then turned around and done something that goes completely against all of that. Assuming that Ed isn't allowed to change his mind, can you point out the examples that would make Ed go from one of your favorite rock stars to someone not worthy of 5 dollars if he was suffering from cancer?

Not going to say it again dude, basic common sense and intelligence tells me precisely what he did. Maybe not the specifics of it all, but the same nonetheless.

And what examples do I need to point out for you? Really? I think I've said everything I've needed to say and if you don't get it, you need to look again real hard at the plain black and white son.

I've been in similar situations where I've given people everything I have to give, only to turn around and be treated with utter disrespect and disloyalty. I do not and will not ever forgive those people. It goes against everything I stand for.

One thing is for fucking sure and that is that karma is a complete bitch. Ed should really be looking out for that in this case. After turning on his lifelong friends, something nasty has to be waiting for that guy down the road somewhere. Good luck to him with that and good luck to all those who continue support a man who basically spit in the faces of 3 guys he grew up with. The 3 guys he basically became brothers with and the 3 guys who helped him get where he is today. Oh yeah, karma is one motherfucking bitch and she is a waitin'.

Common sense tells me to not rule out things that seem entirely possible. As for stealing, it seems possible that CCP and lawyers might have overlooked some part of the contract or are not privy to certain info, and with Ed claiming that he has no legal obligations, I can see it being possible that he did not legally steal.

When it comes to turning his back on lifelong friends, it seems possible that its not as disrespectful or disloyal as you make it sound. It might not have been an immediate process and their relationships were put under alot of pressure. Maybe Ed wasn't getting his fair share and monetarily the other guys were getting more than their fair share for a while. I'm saying its a possibility that I wouldn't count out. Or if for some reason Ed wanted to write all of his own music or take a new direction with music, I think its very arguable whether or not that has to do with loyalty or disrepectfulness.

you've got to be joking. Thats about as superstitious as believeing in the man in the sky. So someone like pol pot, who is responsible for the lives of 2 and a half million, got his karma how? Oh i know, karma waited for him to live to a ripe old age in total freedom, then struck him down with natural causes while he was warlmy asleep in his bed.

i know i know, this is a discussion for a gotigrz thread

It is also a GREAT and very LIKELY possibility that I know much much more than you know about this situation. You go ahead with your double talk and find it arguable all you want, for I find you not clever, but your diatribe laughable.

If you want to get in a war of words here buddy, you will lose. Your contradictory argument towards specualtion, works when you are dealing with such. You are not, so I suggest you keep your worthless argument to yourself. It is falling on deaf ears son, do you get that? I'm not basing any of my opinion on specualation, none of it basically, except the severity of what actually happened.

The loyalty and disrespectfulness I speak of has nothing to do with anybody writing their own music or anything of the sort. You aren't even in the same ballpark son. I've said once before that I'm not going to bother explaining it to you again. If you're not smart enough to get it once, you're not worth a second explanation.

If you agree that you don't want to give examples of how what has transpired in the band makes it obvious that Ed stole from TGF then I agree you shouldn't bother continuing the discussion.

This was a recent quote from Ed. It flat out disgusts me. With the exception of Adam, he's known these guys for just over a year.
