I know that I should think about giving
and think about
helping out
and think about
think about living
but I can't seem to rescue myself

what about my bank account
and my holy desert shield
that keep me dry under the arms?
flags and mental jewelry's all I know
and they keep me happy and warm inside

so I said unto this man
"who are you and where do you come from?"
and he proceeded to tell me many
many, many, many, many, many, many things

but I said nothing at all

for the flower in the corner, by the room,
in the window, and the sun
said it all

at least they said they would
said they could
mama said they would
do me good

I've played it quite a bit - trying to get my money's worth. There are bits and pieces that I really like but I can't say I like whole songs. I still think his voice has lost its rawness - he's tried to polish it but doesn't do anything for me. And the band - he could have had any bunch of rehearsed musicians pulling that off.

Still disappointed although wasn't expecting better.

I'm definitely somewhere in between, leaning towards dislike. Make that an option, and I'll vote.

It's not very good, and if you remember I was one of Ed's biggest defenders on here not too long ago.

I wanted to fall in love with both albums. I have Ed's and it just doesn't blow my skirt up. I don't think it sucks, nor do I hate it. It's just not something I've fallen in love with, nor is there any song on there that haunts me the way so many Live songs do. I almost feel an obligation to listen to it all the way through again a fifth time (rather than a burning desire), and that ain't my typical history with a Live related album, ya know?

If Ed is happy with it, then good for him. He should write and record what feels right to him. I just don't think it's great music and the lyrics do not read or sound like what I'd expect from him.

I'm very excited about TGF album and have a ticket for the Austin show.

In Alive's first week, & second weeks when it charted on Billboard Top 200 as of 7/24:

166 KOWALCZYK, ED - ALIVE 3,222 999 77 3,297

omg.gif does that even cover the costs?

Haven't found any recent info, but in 2 weeks, that is wow!!

Pink Floyd is still outselling a lot of things almost 40 years later :

138 PINK FLOYD DARK SIDE OF THE MOON 3,734 38 2,711 8,933,356

Where did you get the info?

My feeling is that TGF will get a similar chart position to Alive in the US, but won't do nearly as well in Netherlands/Belgium(despite being on the same label as Ed). Also the fact that they don't have the CD for sale on their website won't help them make back the cost of producing the album.

If you had a brain, you'd be able to find it like me. I am looking for the European #'s (I think i got it at a board you post at)

They have the digital on their site. I think the real CD will be available but that depends on the EMI distribution deal.

I am also looking for the digital sales #'s

Your last comment is almost ludicrous. Don't you have any football whistle and jockstrap cleaning to tend to?

Ed's album was hard to find in most stores, and TGF will be facing the same problem especially since September 14th is a huge release date filled with insane of number of bands releasing new material. My local FYE isn't getting TGF's album, and I bet if you call around most stores won't be getting many copies of the album, if they are getting any at all.

Is this all you got? Wow, a stab at TGF's when Ed can't outsell a 40 year old record.

TGF got EMI to distribute. I am positive it will be present in most places. Folks here have gone to their local stores and asked for it to be preordered.

Once I knew that Ed was releasing his CD on his own label, I knew that it was not going to be a big seller domestically. I was actually pleasantly surprised that it made the Billboard 200 at all.

So with that being said, You can spout that TGF failed by getting EMI to distribute their record in the States?

Where did you go to school?
