It's kind of their good will I would say. Do they have to sign them? No. Just another distribution channel with a goodie for the fans

Oh, I understand that but people are buying those specific cd's because they are supposed to be signed. It's not like they are going out of their way.

I think it's much more meaningful if they sign stuff that people bring to concerts or whatever, which I'm sure they will. But signing autographed cd's that are suppose to be autographed isn't something that I think is really admirable of them.

By the way, is this kind of a new thing with Newbury comics? I know the Gin Blossoms are doing the same thing for their new cd.

Newbury Comics has been doing this for awhile, it has become kind of a nice niche for them I think.

As for whether it is "gracious," consider that they aren't going to be making any more money off of these CD purchases than they are anywhere else. Doing the signed CD route isn't something that they had to do either. Seems to me like that is pretty cool, and not nearly as convenient as signing stuff after shows.

You guys want Gracious, go back and re-read the Fat Daddy's thread. That's a band going the extra mile for the fans...

I'm not sure what is "gracious" about them signing those cd's for the Newbury Comic orders. Aren't those supposed to be signed? It's kind of their obligation.

Yes, it's their obligation. Proof that they signed them, and a little look see to the fans.

Being Honest!!!!!

Try that one on for size

They will sign anything after the shows. I'll have a backpack of stuff for them to sign when I go to the Stone Pony.

OTD...they should really have you on stage for a song or 2 since I think you are single handedly supporting their kids' college educations smile.gif Which is cool, btw, that you are so excited about them and their music. That's the way music is suppose to be.

And I wasn't trying to say that they aren't "gracious". I just didn't see this as such a "gracious" thing. I'm sure they will do a lot for their fans aftershows and everything. They seem like good guys, although the only person I met was CT for a few minutes.

I think its pretty cool that they all got together at someone's house to sign them - kinda reinforces the whole "band" aspect, and that they made the effort to meet up and do it.

On a side note, I briefly met Sean and KM last night here in Norfolk - Cbox is playing tonight with Billy Idol and they were out bar hopping... my first Facebook stalk! happy.gif

Kudos to Rupe's commments in the next thread. To say I am excited for this record is putting it mildly. I haven't been this anxious to get a little plastic CD in a long long time, perhaps going back to Secret Samadhi. I would be thrilled if I got to experience what you're suggesting, however I am going to be getting some perks at one of the shows I am attending. I've met the Live guys once (not backstage) for 30 seconds each in a freezing cold parking lot.

Is the physical CD available for pre-order directly from The Gracious Few? Just curious.

I think the only thing they are selling is the digital download and not the physical cd.

I'm surprised they aren't. Maybe it has to do with their distribution deal? I think they also handle website orders personally, so they might think it would be too much to handle to get everything out in time.
