I do some occasional moderating on a very well large audio/home theater site. I've been very active there for a 2 or 3 years now and posted the The Gracious Few YouTube link to their video and gave a quick background about LIVE breaking up. So far a couple of people have seen the post and commented that it rocks and will definately be picking it up.

So while Ed is off singing about butterflies and ponies, it seems the TGF have struck a chord. I think their success will lie soley with marketing. You can have the best product in the world, but if no one knows about you...you're not even a "has been" you're a "never was."

Hopefully, the boys can get some solid rep behind them.

While TGF is doing what they can to get backing, it is us who matter grassroots to do exactly what you did.

when we do that locally, the effect becomes larger globally.

Wait, for months I've heard TGF will be bigger than Zep because they "rawk hardcore" and now you're telling me there is "marketing" involved, too?? They're sellouts of they market their work, man! Either it's awesome or you're a shill for the man, man!

(This is, of course, called sarcasm. Some people on this board are thinking these very thoughts, though, I guarantee it!)

Nice to see you back after a while. TGF got some backing to market the record. They got EMI to make and distribute the CD. Have to play in the market to get your product out there sometimes. Indy or not. I don't see this as a sell out. I see them making all the decision and they have the control.

Who on this board has ever said or thought that TGF wouldn't need marketing to be successful?

Both Ed and TGF need marketing if they want to sell music. No ones denying that. Marketing in a negative aspect in regards to Ed has just be more about certain peoples obsession with it over the actual content of what's being marketed.

While it's not a super high traffic area on the board I posted on... the few comments and feedbac has been very positive:

Amazon has one full MP3 available (which I believe is the same on their site) and samples of all the tracks. I will definitely be buying this.

I hope that's an indication of the general masses.

Interestingly enough, I got a couple PM's from people chatting about how much they used to like the "old Live." Comments like "what happened to their sound" and my favorite... "I stopped buying their stuff when they switched to an 'easy listening' radio sound." Sorda mimmicks what a lot of us have been talking and lamenting about for years. It's intresting that not just the hard core Live fan feels this way.

In any event... good news for TGF.
