The former Live frontman makes his solo stage debut, introducing his rather impressive new album, Alive, as well as some of the old favourites.

“I thought we’d start out at about six on the scale, and just get better, but we’ve come in at an eight, and still improving with each date. Right now, I feel very comfortable with my position.

Really glad FOTM made the setlist --- Ed should play 'Ghost' 'TBD' I'd love to hear Him try We walk in the dream or Out To Dry!

Really positive reviews coming in from Ed's kickoff date in England tonight. No setlist yet though.

I was there last night and I thought it was an awesome performance.

I have been with Live since Mental Jewelry, most of the time thinking I was the only one in the UK who gave a shit. Brixton Academy 10 years or so ago made me realise more people liked the band, last made me realise a lot of people love the songs.

I loved it.

Ed may still have no sense of timing when it comes to dancing and the songs may be a little bit too close to religious propaganda for those of an agnostic persuation, but stip all that away and just concentrate on the sound...

It was pretty amazing. I couldn't care less about a split between Live and Ed or any of that, I take things on face value, sonically the band sounded great and the audience enjoyed the mix of new Ed and old Live tunes.

The twist was the soundscapes added by the other guitarist (not Adam K) who had a violin bow going at one stage. On some of the old stuff it worked, on others not so much, but I cannot say I wasn't entralled all the way through.

Of the new stuff 'Grace' and 'Drive' stood out for me, if you are in Europe and going you are in for a great night.

Cool, thanks for the review. Really lookin forward to September the 3th now! And good to hear the band's sound improved, as in Amsterdam (May 5th) his new band didnt really convince me yet, although the location and curriculamtanses there outside in Amsterdam weren't good.

i'll back up Jimmy.I often thought i was the only fan in the Uk.How wrong i was.The gig was awesome.The band were superb Ed was at his best.His voice was amazing as usual.i to don't care about the split because i know they will reform.Like Ed i'm enjoying the moment.Now i look forward to seeing The Gracious Few.stand out tracks for me was Soul Whispers,Drive & Fire on the mountain but i have to say they all l sounded great.Great night one of the best!!!!
