Understandable. But we're all biased here. Many outsiders would argue that SS was the last time Live was relevant (at least here in the States), and even then simply because they were riding the TC coat tails.

But it was a huge letdown from what came before. SS was the album that started the downward spiral for Live.

In the early 2000's the majority of 90's bands were pushed aside to make room for new acts. STP, Bush, Candlebox, and many others bands went on hiatus because of that. I believe that Live could have released another Throwing Copper in 2001, and it would not have made a difference. The alternative rock sound of the 90's died to make room for Limp Biscuit, Linkin Park etc.

I have to say that post really pissed me off. You're suggesting, in a backhanded way, that I'm ashamed of things I do. Have you even read the quote in my signature? The forum is on gamespot. I've actually posted direct links to the board in the past but nobody has given a shit before, so why would I bother to mention it again? If you want to find it dig it up yourself.

What? I've never said that I've liked any of Live's albums since TDTH. I'm on record numerous times stating I'd still like my money back for V. (Apparently if Chad had his way I would have never paid for it). As far as new songs here's exactly what I like since TDTH:

1. Simple Creed
2. Like I Do
3. Sweet Release
4. Beautiful Invisible
5. Radiant Sea
6. Purifier
7. The River
8. Love Shines

You can throw in Heaven as a so - so if you want. That's it. Not even enough to make an album. I enjoy a few songs and I've had no problem saying it in the past because many of them get ripped.

On Ed's Album - I said I like it. After listening to it a whole lot I've found I really care for 6 songs (almost as many as the previous list - so I give it a little defense now and then):

1. Drive (but the lyrics suck)
2. The Great Beyond
3. Grace
4. Stand (but the lyrics suck)
5. Zion (like the song, not the fact that it's another about Zion like Purifier)
6. A New World (although he talks about the world ending like in White, Discussion)

Fuck he writes about the same damn things over and over and over again.

I'm talking albums. Live has not released a new album that has been worth a shit since October 5, 1999. They all suck. In fact, thinking about how they tanked really pisses me off.

They have a few songs that I persoanally enjoy but that's it.

Ed's album is not Live, not even close. If you take away A New World, which isn't even on the album, I like 5 out of 11 songs. That's less than 50%. So do I enjoy the album, ya - cause I like the songs I mentioned.

To be honest, I'd say SS lost a lot of people when they heard it. I think the sale numbers for SS were directly linked to the fact that it came out immediately after TC. During that time SFBM could have come out and sold just as well because there wasn't the immediate feedback. SS did not really appeal to the masses.

I'd disagree that they were even relevant during the SS days. I still don't ever remember hearing anything from the album on the radio. Perhaps Turn My Head made it once or twice. But I don't even remember hearing Lakini's Juice on any of the local rock stations.

I ended up with the CD because after TC, I had happened to run across MJ on a CD rack at the local music club store. So I was actively looking for something new from them. Among all the people I knew who were fans of TC, I was the only one who had both MJ and was actively waiting for what came next.

I'll concede that it's possible that my recollection with regards to the amount of radio play may be foggy. Given my propensity to play an album over and over and over, it's quite possible that I may simply not have listened to the radio all that much.
