Mirror Song
Lightning crashes
Gas Hed
Feel the river
Flow

You could ask me what i thought of flow and depending on my mood i could tell you the song sucks ass. But it has given me many rousing, throw myself around the room in a drunken stupor moments, it is an extremely uplifting song. Mirror song gives me one of these "moments" when im lying in a hammock hung over, the song just has a rythym that makes me smile and not many things can do that. lightning crashes was the first song that ever gave me goosebumps so i gotta honor that. the other two i see as tremendously creative, finely constructed pieces of art and im in awe of their power to create a landscape of images in my mind every single time i hear them. For these reasons these are my favourite songs.

Well, 18 people put down their top 5. 37 songs got at least 1 vote.

Here are the top 5 vote getters:
1. White, Discussion (10)
2. Gas Head Goes West and Lakini's Juice (8)
4. Lightning Crashes (5)
5. Run to the Water/Turn My Head/Iris (4)

It is fascinating to me that Run to the Water made it into 4 people's top 5 but I Alone, Selling the Drama, Pillar of Davidson, Pain Lies on the Riverside and Operation Spirit did not. I would have guessed that all those songs were more popular with people on the board than RTTW.

Another quirky thing I noticed was that 6 of us that responded have a song title or lyric in our usernames and none of us put the song that they came from in our top 5!

I like how I didn't choose any of those... banana.gif

I don't understand the love for RTTW either. To me, the song was just another song on the album. The gems were WFG and TSUFL clearly.

Here is mine

1- White, Discussion
2- Lakini's Juice
3- Where fishes go

This top 3 is static and never changes

4- Rattlesnake ( a feeling in it hard to describe, melancolic...like the solo in this one)
5- Pillar of davidson (over run to the water because the song structure is not a basic one)

As much as people say MJ/TC was the best of the best, I think any Live fan worth a damn has a fondness for TDTH. It was a great CD despite the lack of teenage angst.

I can only speak for myself, but I ranked RTTW over IA and STD because (I know I'll be lynched for this) I'm not super fond of those songs. They're good songs, don't get me wrong but I've heard them a trillion times from 1994-1999. Even Live songs get tiring after that many listens!

I had to make it a top six. I had to throw out about a dozen honorable mentions. I had to concede that, like it will for many others, this can likely change and then change back.

These aren't in any particular order...

The Six:

We walk in the dream
Lightning crashes
Ghost
She
Top
Hold me up

The Honorable Mentions:

Brothers unaware
Iris
Lakini’s juice
Century
Photograph
Insomnia and the hole in the universe
The dolphin’s cry
They stood up for love
Simple Creed
Overcome (full band)
Lighthouse
Out to Dry
