Here's the Machine Shop in Flint. TGF and Ed will both be here:

I've never seen a show here.

Please note, Hoodstock did not create this topic. The thread was split from Ed Kowalczyk's Australian Tour thread where discussion turned from the Australian tour into what some people considered to be poor quality US tour venues.

That looks like a sweet rock n' roll venue.

haha and Edward has to play there cos he can't do any better bounce.gif

Seriously, it looks awesome, up close and intimate. You need to see more local acts dude, some of the best gigs I've seen and played at have had a similar stage set up to that, sometimes you just can't beat it! Sweat flying, angry rock faces .. thats rock'n'roll! .. Ed is bring the "FULL ROCK BAND" isn't he?

Ed and TGF are starting over and have to play smaller venues than they are used to. It is no big deal, but I'm not going to say that some of the venues aren't total crap. The Chameleon Club in Lancaster is a huge dive and I'm sure a lot other venues on the schedule of bands fit that mold as well.

I guess the moral is that sometimes you have to visit garbage venues to see your favorite band.

lol also you don't have to justify it like it's a prepared statement. You don't think by this stage I know they're starting over? I am just poking you with a stick dude, you don't need to lay down the facts.
you can rest easy knowing he's playing in an awesome venue in Melbourne. It's too good for him really.

That's why it is a great place for a rock show!

Ed's new music is far too pussified for such a venue, of course you wouldn't like it.

Actually its a pretty decent club, and has been remodeled. Nice try though. Some of the best shows I've ever been to have been at dives. The Crowbar in State College, Pa was a dive, but the place had an amazing history. CBGB's was a dive, but again the place had amazing history.

The best rock venues are "dives" and "shitholes."

Comparing a total shit hole to the Masquerade is offensive to shit holes everywhere... I look forward to the show, and cant believe that I'm going to willingly walk into that place again.

That's what you see while your car is getting stripped in the parking lot.

Why anyone would want to see a rock show in a "classy" venue is just beyond me. Rock music is not classy!!

Ed isn't rock music, so it makes sense. He's pop rock, so him and his fans want the venue to be GLAMOROUS!

lol.gif

I've played hundreds of shows in shitholes (and non-shitholes) and never had anything of that nature happen. Not saying it doesn't, but it isn't as often as people think.

It probably happens more often in Flint, Michigan.
