I keep hpoing that there has got to be someone out there that is in his circle of family or friends that has told him what shit his new music style has become the past 5 years! I understand he's in a different place now with beliefs and all but come on. Is he really that clueless about how much this album and SBFM sucks!????? shrug.gif

Maybe they fear Nick jumping in to protect his idol.

The problem is that most of us perceive Ed is a fake and a phony. For so many years, I looked up to Ed and idolized his music but always knew there was something slimy about him...

From the sound of things, I guess my gut feelings about Ed have been spot on.

i agree with you pokey to an extent but i just cant see how an intelligent humanoid can "lose the spark". how does one go from writing a lyric like "the decibels of this disenchanting discourse" to "im letting you D-R-I-V-E....get it" drive?

Ed lost his ability to write good lyrics when he started stealing from his bandmates.

So are you saying the Karma bus is driving through Ed's living room?

I think Ed backers have put up the surrender.gif when it comes to his character and ability as a song writer.

It seems to me that it is self-doing. I find it hard to believe that Ed has come down as far as he has, but didn't we all see this coming?

I've been seeing all this for years as a fan who used to attend shows, then my interest waned so bad becasue of the musical direction.

Nope, I have never really talked about Ed's character. I've never met him nor CG and Pat. I talked to CT for a few minutes once, but I can't really judge him based on that. Does Ed have an ego? Yes and I don't think anyone doubts that. Do I think Ed could've handled things different with Live? Absolutely. However, if I worried about everyone's character...I highly doubt I would be able to like many bands then.

And I still enjoy his songwriting. Many people don't anymore and that's fine but it's still good to me.

I completely see how you feel. I've been feeling the same way for years.

It definitely appears to me that Ed fans have given up hope for him. They are finally seeing what we have been saying this whole time. There is no more defending him.

I think you definitely are the exception, not the rule. I am not saying there is anything wrong with some liking his music, but my has it fallen hard from what it used to be.

Don't think so. I'll defend him, just like I would defend CT, CG, and PD if needed. I just don't feel like getting in a verbal sparring match everytime someone makes a comment about him which is every single thread that appears in this forum.

And I understand many people don't like his music anymore and that's fine with me. Everyone has a right to his/her opinion and I try to respect people's opinion even if I disagree. I will never bash anyones musical tastes because what doesn't click with me might mean a helluva lot to someone else.
