Nick, has Ed put you up to the negative press tour? smile.gif This record will blow away Ed's solo release and be a big record for rock music fans.

Honest Man really tore up the single charts, didn't it? It is a horrible sign when a band's first single drops off of radio a full two months before the album release.

The Gracious Few should do fine enough to tour and get by, but to say that this record will be huge is a total joke.

I don't think it will be huge, but musically the record is far from a joke, unlike ahmmm you know who I'm thinking of.

That is your opinion. From what I've seen, there are some fans who really like "Alive" and others who do not. The same goes for the TGF songs that were. There is support and disdain for both groups.

FansofLive is a very small and inaccurate sampling of a much bigger picture.

nick you need to change your avatar. Im thinking stay with the star wars thing, but you would be more suited to that character from return of the jedi, you know that little ratty thing that sits on jabba the hutt and just keeps laughing hysterically at anything and everything. friendly suggestion

You will see a lot of support for TGF apart from the fansoflive/fol or candlebox groups. It will happen.

By the way, what address do I mail one of my numerous TGF cds to you at? You did bet me I remember.

I found the initial one. I do think I made a bet with you, I am stills searching for the thread.

I made the initial bet with Pokey. Looks like I have revised the bet since I am in for 21 as of today.

The two biggest jokes on this board are you and Ed!

I haven't been one of the posters claiming that the album is going to be "huge" as frankly I don't care about this. But the fact is, to go ahead and cast judgment on either Ed's or TGF's album is way, way, way, way, way premature.

If this was a new Live release performing as poorly as Alive for Ed, or as Honest Man did for TGF, then I'd say we could call it dead in the water. But these are both new bands with new names. Ed has a huge advantage over TGF since his name is at least known someone, but it is still a new property and requires new promotion.

So, saying the record is going to be huge is a bit optimistic, BUT it isn't "a total joke" either.

I would have to agree with you FRC. My cheering section a bit rambuncious sometimes. But I think TGF will be more successful, way more than Ed's solo career.

I would like to see both acts do well enough to put out multiple releases under their new brands. I don't think either will be wildly successful without getting picked up by a major label and getting a ton of money poured into promotion.

I think if TGF can perform as well as Candlebox has since their reunion then they will keep on going, and I think Ed will keep doing it either way. Whether he does it acoustically or with a band will likely be determined by how much cash he can bring in. That's the biz for you.
