Debuting at #4 in the Netherlands and staying high on the chart for the past month is very impressive. Especially since it occurred on an indie label. Alive is the only CD on V2 to even be on the top 100 chart.

What would you consider an impressive chart debut Matty?

It's totally impressive, when I want to know what new music I should be listening to I bring up the Dutch top 40 to check out what all the cool people are listening to these days.

The thing is you can argue back and forth what charting is or isn't impressive, at the end of the day that doesn't matter, because the album isn't impressive no matter which country it's in kicking.gif

The Netherlands has a population of about 17 million people. The state of Florida has roughly 18.5 million people.

Sad.

So any successful musician in the Netherlands isn't impressive because the country ONLY has 17 million people in it? Australia is a continent of only 21 million people, so any successful artist there must be sad as well?

It's the Netherlands. Let's get serious here. Being a huge hit in the Netherlands is like being the smartest kid in the retard class. Hey, great job, but it's a big fish in a small pond scenario. When you're a huge hit in say the United States, or Asia, or Europe, then it is something to be proud of.

So you are saying that only a small group of artists have anything to be proud of when it comes to their music careers?

No, but you make it sound like he's taking over the world. It's the Netherlands. It's such a small sampling that it truly does not reflect how well the album is doing or in this case not doing.

So if TGF's album finishes in the top 10 in the Netherlands album chart, you are saying they shouldn't be proud of their accomplishment?

They can be proud of it, but I certainly doubt that anyone will make it sound like they're dominating the charts and becoming a huge success. See that's the difference between you and OuttoDry. He's at least realistic, where as you like to blow things out of proportion. You make it out to be so much more.

A realist who thinks that TGF's album will have 5 radio singles released from it once Honest Man catches fire(which has yet to happen in the 3 months the song has been released)?

What am I blowing out of proportion exactly? I am reporting where Ed's CD charted well in the Netherlands. I never claimed worldwide domination for Ed, like some have done for TGF.

Hey Nick, being real, here's what i really said:

QUOTE
Now I can be so far from the truth, but I think we're going to be hearing a lot from TGF. If Honest Man takes off and Crying Time gets on the air, watch out. They could release 5 more of these songs and they'd be hits to the rock n roll loving folks.

Honest Man is now starting to make inroads to all the media channels. We have the single being played on a good amount of stations, Music Choice, XM Sirius Octane. Now Yahoo Music. You don't see me here saying things that aren't true. I may mistype things and clarify mistakes immediately.

Claims for worldwide domination are said tounge & cheek but you fail to realize these things.

God damnit, what's impressive or not impressive is the music.

You place way too much importance on this shit. As for us, look at Powderfinger (RIP), massive in Australia, basically nobodies outside of the country, would you call them successful? It's impressive what they've done in one country, but that's where major success ends. And in the end, who cares really?

If Ed wasn't selling the way he was in the Netherlands I'm not sure what you'd be doing with yourself now Nick, probably on the edge of a cliff somewhere pondering "is this really the end?" So you just keep on holding tight to that dream man!

I am completely indifferent to both Ed and TGF. But seriously, how can you get excited about charting well in the Netherlands?
