Interesting side note, while Live said everybody's good enough for some change, a waiter friend of mine once told me that you should leave change if you are unhappy with the service and want your waiter to be clear about that fact. If you leave nothing, it is possible they might think that you simply forgot the tip. Leave a quarter, or less, and they get the point. I still follow that to this day.

All this talk about people not being open minded about SFBM,and accepting a change is BULLSHIT! They don't like it,it's as simple as that! I like SFBM,nowhere close to the extent of the other albums,but I can understand where people are coming from who dislike this album. To say if people were more "open minded" and accepted "change" they will automatically like SFBM again is bullshit, bullshit, BULLSHIT!
If they don't like it they don't like it,except that fact. I know it used to piss me off to no end when people hated a couple of the other albums,but it's there opinion,no different to yours.People get so defensive here,and the other boards when people dislike an album. They love/loved the bands music too,they are entitled to give an honest review. If they don't like the new direction you can't force them too. Get over it

I didn't say they had to accept change, I said they had to get over the fact that they have changed. Get over it and listen, or get over it and don't listen. You may not accept the changes, but you have to acknowledge that they HAVE changed and no amount of bitching on a message board that is read by tens of people is going to change that.

Aside from the fact that it makes this board very unenjoyable, I could really give a shit if other people like the new album. I like it, I'll listen to it, I'll buy it if its ever released in the States. I'll even see them if they come around on tour and I have a chance.

Sorry folks, when I started this thread I intended to just have a bit of fun with seeing where the band may be heading in the future, not wishing they would go back to the past.
I love the new album and I'm all for change................. some fucking change!!

I don't think it will be their last. I know they have it in em for another GREAT album. I listened to the album last night on my ipod, and a few more songs have grown on me. I REALLY like "Where Do We Go From Here?", "All I Need" has even grown on me a bit, as has "Home", which isn't nearly as bad as everyone says, once you get over the lyrics its quite good...but, "You Are Not Alone" is a truly embarrasssing song, I could handle the mommas in "Show" but the oooh childs I can not.. Ick. Not too fond of "Love Shines" either. In fact, if the take out those 2 songs its not so bad. A decent 10 song album.

Where Do We Go From Here?

Thats how I would do it. End on "Where Do We Go From Here?", because that is a very good question for this band at the moment, down the road of radio frindly crap, or greatness.

What's wrong with him saying "momma" and "oh child"? Hell, sometimes he says "Oh Lawd". Why "ick"? Hello he has always said things like that. It's not anything new. Personally, I find it sexy when he says "momma". And you know what, I appreciate the fact that even though he's singing rock he's still putting a little black flavor in the song. You see, when he does that he's trying to put some soul into the song.
But i guess you are one of those who would prefer if those two genres, soul and rock are segregated. Oh well

Well, I have to say that I honestly can't believe how one single person could say SFBM is a better cd then MJ. That honestly made me laugh out loud. Taste is subjective but.....my god.

There's not one single song on this cd that comes even close to PLOTR or 10,000 years(peace is now). Nor is there one single song sung with such force and emotion as MEIAVc. Nor is there one song with anywhere near the meaning of a song like The Beauty of Gray. Damn I actually think that every single song of MJ is better by miles then anything off of SFBM. Writing, structure,,,,,,,,,,,,,, drumming and especially the bass we actually got to hear from Pat once upon a time.

I think SFBM blows Mental Jewelery away. As I said numerous times before, MJ loses me after Mirror Song. 10,000 Years starts out as a good song, but it never seems to end. Live were finding its legs with MJ, and in my opinion their were as many misses as hits.

SFBM I can listen to and enjoy every song. Which is extremely rare when it comes to CD's.
