TGF are more musically gifted than Ed's band, that is a given, I would say that makes them better. Ramy isn't half the drummer CG is, you can like the other band as much as you want, that's your opinion, but we've gone over this again and again. Ed's music is very safe, very basic, very unimaginative ... TGF's, whilst not exactly being completely original, are a much broader scope.

That is a matter of opinion. Ed's band have been able to cover the Live tunes way better than the Live guys covered Candlebox's Far Behind.

Are you kidding? The version of far behind was fantastic .. some people didn't like it as much, but everyone agreed they put their own stamp on it in a creative way. They changed the song to give it more of a kick. Ed's band just sound like they're trying to sound like Live and not doing a good job of it .. Live-lite might be the best way to describe them. They're not bringing anything new to the table at all. I will give you that KM's vocals on one of the versions of Lakini's Juice wern't real great. But the band absolutely tore it to pieces!

It's a matter of opinion which one you prefer. It's a matter of fact that the TGF boys are much better musicians than Ed's lame ass session musos. Ed's band don't even seem to get any time to shine, if they were so great you think they'd be showing it up .. they stand in the back and barely move a muscle whilst the master sings. TGF is a BAND, a cohesive unit. Ed's is a frontman with session musos.

Ed's band have about 3 jam sessions built into the set and I was surprised at how much they actually had to do on stage when I saw them last year. Ed actually interacts with each member of the band numerous times throughout the show.

TGF changed Far Behind, and made the song much worse in my opinion. There is no need for new spins on Live classics, they songs are great as they are.

Haven't been on for a bit due to knee surgery, and this is the 1st thing I have to see. Even the Oxycodone can't take away the pain of you and your blind allegiance Ned. Can anything ever get posted about TGF that u don't have to come running w/ your Ed is the greatest thing since the creation bullshit posts.

Never said that Ed is the greatest, but I like his music way more than TGF's.

Be careful with Oxy....a lot of people don't take well to that crap.

How do you rationalize that Ed's changed all the lyrics??? Pot / Kettle theory again.

That wasn't fair of me to put words in your mouth, but that is definitely the impression we get from u on these boards, as you're prob aware. I assumed, and we know what happens when people assume!! My bad.

Thanks for the well wishes on the Oxy, I did have to start taking less of it. That stuff is way to much for me. It changed my personality for the worse and had me confused when I was taking it every 4 hours. I don't know how people can function on Oxy...or even worse, drink and take those pills for recreation. Don't get me wrong, I'm no angel. I've been friends w/ Mary Jane for many many years and did all the normal things growing up, but meds are nothing to play with.

Ouch! Fucking burn!

Ned might not like the Far Behind cover, some of the people that loved the original here don't like it as much either. I like the original, but prefer this cover, I like the spring in it's step.
Again, that's your opinion if you don't like it much .. the point I was making was that the band were creative enough to put another spin on it.

Ed's band having prerehearsed jam sessions means nothing. They are a very bland and uncreative unit. Who gives a fuck if Ed interacts with them? How does that effect their musicianship?? Last time 2 guys from TGF tried to interact with each other on stage you accused them of mocking Ed. Even Adam, as a nice of a guy as he is (and I really got great vibes from meeting the guy) is a snoozefest in my opinion, both on stage and his own music. Ed's band just look like they're doing the bare minimum. You can't seem to see that as your attention is only on the bald one. They don't put the same energy into their performance that TGF does. Their songs aren't as varied as TGF's.
The line you gave about "no noticable drop offs" was probably one of the most insulting things to the legacy of Live I have ever heard. You call yourself a fan, good god.

Why are you guys arguing musicianship quality with Nick? Haven't you been down this road before?
