Word is out that Chris Daughtry wrote all the lyrics to Alive.

You have no proof that it's fabricated.

One thing that is going to hamper sales of Alive and, to be fair, The Gracious Few in the U.S., is going to be the inability to get any rack space at Best Buy.

I happened to be at the local Best Buy today to pick up another CD and decided to check what they had as the current price of Alive as they constantly run specials, even on new music. Only problem was that the CD was nowhere to be found. I checked the promotional racks. I checked the new artist and album racks. I checked the alphabetical order racks both under E and under K.

When I got home, I decided to check bestbuy.com to see what they showed. Strangely, the album did show as available at that store. However, 4 out of the 6 Best Buy stores within 45 miles of my apartment did not have it available in stock.

If you're not on the rack, visible to the heavy foot traffic, you're not going to get impulse buys. And your sales are going to be limited to the relatively hardcore fans who know enough to ask for the album.

I don't know if TGF is going to have any better luck in this regard. But I sure as hell hope so.

One thing that will probably make Nick have to run and change his pants in glee, is that in JB Hi Fi here in Australia (probably the biggest franchise store for purchasing music here) Alive isn't under an Ed Kowalczyk tag, it's with all the other Live albums under the Live tag.
Although they do that with most solo artists, that'll definitely help. I'm willing to bet some idiot has picked it up and gone "Whoa there's a new Live album called 'Ed Kowalczyk!"", probably then brought it home and cried.

TGF is releasing their album on one the most crowdest new music release days of the year. They are going to run into the same problem.

I will ask the Best Buy folks by my house that I want to preorder it and pick it up. EMI is distributing it so it should get space on the New Release rack like everything else.

Quite the opposite, mr no knowledge. That is the best time to release a new record. Sept is the best month.

Did you check under the name Live or in the Christian music section?

I imagine most Best Buys only got a couple of copies, they may be in the back in a box somewhere but if it is at the store then it is supposed to be out.

However, this album isn't going to be effected by its release date or its placement on the shelves. The big, big, big albums have to worry about that, albums like Alive and The Gracious Few are going to be driven by online sales and internet promotion.

If a single takes off for either than you will be able to find the album in tons of places, but not before. This isn't Live back when V came out, the internet has busted the record label bubble and tons of albums are sold online digitally. The music just needs to get to the consumer in whatever form, not just shelf space that is expensive and release dates that really don't matter.

I already said that this could be an issue for TGF. Thanks for once again showing yourself to be a complete tool and not address anything else in the post. If nothing else, you are damn reliable.
