So was the show on Monday better than the two Shinedown shows you had seen before?

without a doubt, Monday's show was better than the other times i've seen Shinedown. we were talking about it on the way home and Jen and I both agreed that Brent's vocals were really on that night! he was hitting all the higher notes perfectly...almost like on the albums! rockin.gif

can you believe i had no idea that Nick was even there until after the show?! i thought i heard Brent say something about Silvertide and then they played Atmosphere, which isn't really one of my favorite songs, so i figured that was a good time to go to the bathroom. after the show, we're walking down the stairs and Jen is freaking out saying "i can't believe how much i screamed for Nick!" or something to that effect, and i have no clue what she's talking about until she says "NICK FROM SILVERTIDE WAS ON STAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" eh.gif

yeppers.....monty is yummy. I met Chris, the lead singer, when I saw them last in Portland. He was nice and the only member who hung out after the show. It was the last nite of the tour and all were ready to head home to cal. Fun nite!

I saw them about a year ago in Bloomington, IL. They ROCKED! I had really enjoyed their CD and then won tickets to go see them. They were just amazing. I was right up in front. The lead singer is actually really hot! I would love to go see them again. I know they're going to be at the HOB up here in Chicago. I need to find a concert-going buddy... huh.gif

Yeah I think his voice hasn't quite been where it should be the last few times that I have seen them. Maybe he was so on that night because it was the beginning of the tour. I just remember a show we saw them do at the Recher last year and I seriously had my mind blown. I haven't seen them do a show that good since. I mean, don't get me wrong, they still put on one of the best shows out there, I've just never seen them do one as good as that one. I though maybe it was just me because I have seen them so many times. Anyway, lesson learned, I will NEVER EVER miss another Shinedown show.

Do you even realize how much I love Nick?! God dammit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and Chooky, email me your Halestorm details. Jen told me some but I want to hear what you thought of the show and Lzzy!

I'm probably gonna turn some heads with these comments, but when I saw Shinedown, Silvertide played before them. I really didn't think they were that good. The music wasn't all that good and the performance was a little strange. Seemed like he just sang about doing drugs. His pants were way too tight. Either that, or he was just way too skinny. And, it kinda looked like he was wearing girl jeans. In fact, he looked a little girly altogether.

For those who like Silvertide, what do you like about the band?

i love the energy of the band on stage, i love the fact that Walt will climb on whatever/wherever he can in the venues they play in. i love how Nick gets into his guitar playing so much. i just love their music in general. to me, it has that classic rock feel, which i normally don't like, but there's just something about their music that i really enjoy. thumbsup.gif

It's so funny about Silvertide. I swear I have talked to so many people about them and it never fails, you either LOVE them or you HATE them. There is never any in between. I think their style of music only appeals to certain people. I understand why people wouldn't like it but it's just my kind of thing.

The reason that I love them so much is that their sound is guitar driven. There are guitar solos everywhere and Nick actually plays more than four chords. I'm just so tired of all the bands out there today that sound the same and barely even DO anything with their guitars. I also just love their style of music, it just reminds me of back in the day when bands just used to rock out. Plus I love their live show. The first time I saw them they blew the roof off the place and impressed the hell out of me. I just like the way they let loose and tear it up. It's just good old fashioned kick you in the face rock n roll. I think a lot of people have never seen anything like it so they don't know what to make of it. To me it just rocks, plain and simple.

Oh and the singer is too skinny for sure. Not much he can do about that. haha! He's a very sweet guy though.
