I doubt that we have to think about copyrights, E, as it will be done BY the fans FOR the fans without ANY profit at all and MAYBE someone can then pass it to the band. So I do not think it is necessary to break the head against this

I like the catagories, I'll get to work today, I have a bunch of photos and would be happy to share them. I'm getting really psyched about this project. I would be happy to help anyone in this process, let's get this thing moving. kicking.gif kicking.gif thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif

We (the Dutch Live fan club) made a career-spanning book (68 pages) about LIVE as a gift for our members beginning of this year. We had with pretty much the same ideas, except that is focuses mainly on Live in the Nederlands. It is filled with pictures, interviews, reviews and fan memorabilia, much of which we took from the 40 magazines we published in the last 10 years. We used the albums as timeline and added thematic pages about certain Dutch events (fan club events, LATP premiere party etc) and had it professionally layed out, printed and binded as a book.

It was cleared by Live's management and the band members as we obviously didn't want to get in trouble. I know that at least Chad Taylor liked it a lot although looking back was not easy on him at that time.

We might be able to help you with some material if you like. I'll see if I can arrange a digital copy to show what it looks like.

Gertjan, cheers, I think I remember something of that sort and I would definitely love to take a look at the digital version of it if possible

Gertjan, that is amazing, love the Dutch and their passion for LIVE. I was so sad that I was never able to make it to a concert with my Dutch friends. I too would love to see this work. Best wishes to you and keep that love for our favorite band alive.

That book you and SOL made was really a fantastic gift for the fans, it was so great for a fan to receive that. Also, in a certain way, it was very complete with highlighting many aspects.

QUOTE(Pokey @ Jul 21 2010, 4:35 am) *

I wonder if they or someone ended up actually copywriting the name "Ecstatic Fanatic" ... would be cool if we could use that name, or if it's only copywrited to music media or something .. would be appropriate at least.
Some other ideas:

"Live: By the fans"
"How to steal from friends and influence people: da EK story"
"Its the way they sang which made us dream"

Not that we have to choose a title now already, but Ecstatic Fanatic would really be the best title possible. Especially as the band wanted that as an album name, to thank us, but they never had the chance to name it this way in the end. So as that never happened, we can use it to thank THEM.

I'll definitely contribute to that. Many of my stuff I'm thinking of writing about happened to Burd and I when we went on a road trip to see them, so she'll be contributing as well.

Btw, I'm an animator and an illustrator - maybe we should start our own cartoon? tongue.gif

I agree with this. Ecstatic Fanatic would be a great title for it.

I was also thinking of something like "Relive: York vs. the World" but that's probably a bit on the corny side.

And we will also have to find good quotes by the band, some rare interviews etc. For instance we once had a nice thread at WFT with quotes that appealed to us:

The Brazil 92 stuff!

How about a whole chapter dedicated to Luke's rants? It could be called "LiveRocks, and if you don't believe it, ask Luke..."

Let's not and say we did, okay. rolleyes.gif

I would totally be interested in participating. I have some photo's, can write about concert experiences, the music, and about a few times meeting the guys after shows. And btw I am also jumping on the Ecstatic Fanatic bandwagon. After reading Chad's blog letter.... really.... is there a choice for another name??!!!
