Awright, I have nothing against hi.gif

I know what you were getting at, but I'd wager that none of them would likely read it, seeing as it'd come from the message board. Chances are the folks in TGF already know Chad wrote this, or if not they will regardless of whether an email sneaks into their inbox.

And if Ed's on this board then, well, I don't think it matters really.

My answer to Chad's Blog:

Chad, my man,

WOW is all I can say for now, these words brought shivers down my spine and has wettened my eyes.

I am looking forward for your book and any (if possible) material there is.

My favorite era is still Secret Samadhi, and if the raw version are really a million times better then the one I already have favoured above the rest of my music collection, then I am very, very curious about this. I cannot imagine this right now.

I am also very honoured that I have finaly met you in Amsterdam, and had the change to tell you what Live has (and still is) ment to me in my life.

I understand what you meant too -- just think there's probably nothing there that the guys in both bands don't already know. Plus, it'd be great to get a few more folks coming back to the boards -- maybe this letter will mend some fences for some... it's sure affected me positively.

After reading this I had to go back and listen to TDTH outtakes and demo versions! Now dont get me wrong, I loe TDTH but there are some demo or alternate versions along with outtakes that could have made that album fucking unbelievable and up to TC standards I think. This was just such a createive time for the band and really a special time in my life as well so it jsut all came together I guess. I fell in love with this band in the summer of 1999 after seeing them at Rockfest in Atlanta. For example the version of Where Fishes Go with the intro and not overproduced! They should have led of with that track on TDTH followed by Vine Street! or should I say Pop Vortex! lol omg.gif

1. Where Fishes Go (demo version)
2. Vine Street (demo version)
3. Still Aroused
4. Dont Wait
5. Face & Ghost (demo Version)
6. Sparkle (alternate version)
7. They Stood Up For Love (guitars mix version)
8. Deeper
9. Change
10. Overcome (full band version)

These are just the recording I have. Throw in New CIty, Transmission, and Wash The Blood Away and Thats a whole different album!!!! Damn I wish TDTH would have been a 2 disc CD!

Yes. I totally dig how this blog can change your perceptions of what went down. I think it will mend some bridges, and I sincerely hope it does.

Sonofabitch! I take like a week off of this message board because I think I am getting too addicted to it, and I come back and this nuclear bomb goes off?!?!?! Damn! I didn't even get to add my name to the letter!

I am speechless. I am without speech.

I've always said that Chad is the man, and I will say it again. Chad is the man.

I've told this before, but I will never foget the first time I met him. In the lobby of Trump Marina in Atlantic City. Early in the morning, the day after the show. I sheepishly approached him for an autograph. Not knowing what to expect from the encounter. He looked at me, got a huge grin on his face. Introduced himself "Hi, I'm Chad!" and grabbed my pen and signed an autograph. He then proceeded to talk MY ear off for 15 minutes about what a great night he had the night before. He was telling me how much fun it was to jump on stage with the local cover band in the club and play and have fun. How late he was up, and how tired he was. Like, uh, he was the rockstar here, and he was acting like he was excited to see me! I've met Chad dozens of times since then. In all kinds of circumstances that most fans never get a chance to have. He's introduced me to his friends and family. And he has ALWAYS been nice and warm and friendly and talkative. And he really bares his soul.

So yeah. I'm a big Chad Taylor fan. And a big Gracey and Patrick fan too. I take nothing away from those guys either.

This blog post will really take a long time for me to digest.

I will say this. I think it helped me reconcile my feelings for Ed. At the end of the day I think I have blamed him for too much. The stuff about the V era is particularly helpful. And while the record label was taking control and screwing things up, Ed, as the lead singer and front man, tried to keep control of the ship, run the business and make things work. After 25 years, there are differences of opinion and there is no black and white - just shades of gray. There's more to it than that, but this context certainly does help.

Bravo to everyone who pulled this off! This is the coup of the century for Live fans.

P.S. - why hasn't Nick commented in this thread in the last 10 pages?
