This was the funniest part (when Chad is talking about Throwing Copper)

QUOTE
After Gary Kurfirst took a listen, he told us that we didn’t have a song for the album! Jerry Harrison was brought in to rescue to album (he changed very, very little) and Gary finally released our recording fund. This demo clearly shows the bands growth from touring endlessly for Mental Jewelry. There is a new fire to each instrument.

Didn't have a song for the album?! And we wonder why Live released some bad singles. When someone in the musical industry says Throwing Copper doesn't "have a song for the album", it just blows my mind.

Most people (not just Ed) probably wouldn't ever do that.

I have no idea if Live will ever get back together, but there is no way that they would be able to reconcile their friendships if Live was still together. Hopefully, this "hiatus" (whether it's temporary or permanent) heals the wounds that has fractured these 4 friends.

I am at a complete loss of words and seem to become very emotional about this post. I can read his timeline and think back what I was doing when I was following the band during those times. Some really great stuff there! Its sad that the record companies decided to try to change LIVE into something they were not. Fuck those people for tearing apart our favorite band! angry.gif

It would seem that Ed just really checked out and believed he was the greatest ever for some reason. SAD! I guess the record companies are partly to blame for that as well.

THANK YOU SO MUCH CHAD!!!!!!!

I've read this letter in its entirety about 5 times now - in addition to that I've read other bits over a dozen times!

Every time I go off to work or attend to a client, I find myself coming back to read it. It's so surreal that we've been on this emotional trip with the band. I can hardly imagine what it must feel like for Ed, CT, CG and PD. The last 10 years have flown by, and in many ways technology has spoilt us. We can go back and listen to the great music that LIVE left us with, and it's so easy to take for granted these amazing things, when you're expecting a LIVE album every 2-3 years and a world tour. I've always loved LIVE, but Chad's response has really put this whole experience into perspective for me.

The devotion and time and emotion even that has gone along for the ride of buying the music, listening to it, going to shows, sharing the bootlegs, chatting here with you fine people feels like an eternity of wonderful memories.

It is something I wish never ends. I'll be here with you guys for the ride.

As some of you older posters may be aware I spent several years a sportswriter at a newspaper and for a few years now I've been collecting stories about our favorite band for a book. The book is not a history of the band by no means, but just a collection of anecdotes from the fans point of view. Of course this is all still in it's infantile stages. Thank you CT for giving us so much and still willing to give us so much more.

I like this...funny!

Ed told me to play the riff from Lakini’s Juice. I had almost forgot about it. He and Matt Gracey sat on the balcony as Ed screamed “more wine” in the verse. Thankfully, Trevor, our butler (seriously) brought more wine.

That was a really interesting read into what went on in the band. Have nothing else to say at this moment.

Another huge moment can only a few weeks later. The producers for the “Mummy Return’s” called and asked if we would be willing to provide a song for the closing credits of the film.

When I saw this in the movie theater I made my friend sit until the song was over. We were the last people to leave!!!!

In fact a very interesting and emotional read.

I just want to thank Chad for this blog. I've often complained about his lack of guitar skills, but he sure knows how to write. It just put emphasis at how a team work makes the difference. It gets me mad about the stupid record companies. They destructed the band as much as Ed did.

So it looks that TDTH splitted the band and it is sad that the guys didn't even have their word for the songs on the album. He didn't say that it is Ed that chose the songs either. So is it only a record company thing? Grrrrrrrrrrrr angry.gif

Thanks again M. Taylor

I really like how he said he went to the salvation army to get beat up old couches... Good stuff.

I can't wait to buy this book and I don't think I am mad at Ed anymore.
