Gotta admit, felt a little bit teary at the end. Just such a fucking emotional piece to have to read.

THANK YOU SO MUCH CHAD! YOU ROCK.

And I gotta say, I think the label created the Ed that we all have reservations about. Probably had a bit of it in him anyway, but the label fucked around at the end of TDTH and onwards and I blame them for the downturn in Live. Absolutely 100%.

It's great to know the guys wanted the rocky TDTH, and that V was only supposed to be a quick little experimental release. That would have been totally fine, but the label fucked it too and as a "proper" album it was never gonna hold up.

Fucking hell. Just wow.

So pleased we did this thing! lol.gif

Thanks Chad for this. But it seems here that we have been blaming Ed for the band's demise and the turn to a more pop-rock sound while there were more players in this, including the label and the Chads and Patrick. However, i hope that all parties understand and admit their faults and responsibility and reunite with the best of the best Live album.

Quoted for agreement. That is exactly that I was gonna write, altough I think the chance of a reunion is remote. I'm afraid they have drifted too far away from each other, both musically and personally, to regain their original passion anytime soon.

in a strange way Live continues to deliver top-notch entertainment.

that was surreal. Thanks to chad obviously, but also to the players here who had the balls to put this request in motion. An entire book about live!? Hell yeah.

also, i lol'd at how every album/recording session had a big chunk of text and sfbm got half a line. lol.gif

WOW, that was awesome! Just when you think you know a band, you read something like this and you realize you don't know half of it. That was just an amazing reply by Chad. Oddly enough, I found the information about "V" as some of the most interesting stuff. I would love hear the stuff that wasn't released on the album as Chad calls it some of "Ed's finest songwriting." I'd give anything to hear all those outtakes from TDTH. And that version of Ghost with a "massive pipe organ"...man, I gotta hear that. Christmas can't come soon enough!!

It's a shame though that the band and it's fans were deprived of all these great songs and versions, because of record companies and how they wanted Live to sound like.

A big thank you to Chad Taylor for writing this. And a big thank you to Chad T, Chad G, Pat and Ed for all the great music and memories.
