I wouldn't feel bad Chad for saying this. He seems so genuine and some people will get away with whatever they can and not give two shits about it.... I had a roommate who routinely smoked tons of pot, didn't pay bills on time, (we work at the same job(serving) and she'd owe me $400 and ask to go home when we were both offered the option....) I never charged her bf rent or utilites, I bought her kitty litter the whole time, gave her some fish tank stuff and she kept the place filthy.. I stopped the potsmoking thing because if you are like her and all of your student loans are in default, you don't pay any of your credit card bills or car registration or insurance, maybe you shouldn't be doing drugs.. In the end I moved out two months early, had $1200 in the deposit and because I wasn't there to babysit she and her boyfriend played demolition derby in the house and broke 3 windows, put holes in the wall and doors, and did about $1000 damage. She did pay most of it back over the next year, but I still had to work with her and I went freaking CRAZY at work and was so mad and people thought I was the one being unclassy... I fully admit that I am the STUPID one in the end. But now people at work are starting to understand, she won't fix her car (two years ago in the house she knew her car needed two grand of work) and refuses to ride the bus system so people at work continuously give her rides and she is so ungrateful.. and now she just got evicted and is pregnant and I kid you not even said "I might be better off!!" upon knowing what aids are there for single parents in her status..... She used unemployment for a year before taking the job serving I offered to her 2 months into her unempoloyment.... Sometimes people don't deserve a gracious silence so people don't have to know what a fucking piece of shit user, liar, and disgrace to society they are.. they may think you are crazy for rattling off at the mouth, and not really care because they weren't there but it doesn't matter... especially if you are super trusting like it sounds like chad is, you get even more angry at your inability to perceive others doing what they've done and you just get so mad.... I support Chad completely

Ooooof, Megan, I'm sorry you had to deal with that. Your ex-roommate is one of those people I would love to smack upside the head repeatedly with a clue-by-four.

I don’t buy it. And by that I mean, that all is good. Let me preface all of this by saying that I *adore* chad. I think the betrayal by Ed hurt him deeply and what he is sorry for is going overboard publicly. Actually, I don’t think that he owes Live fans an apology at all. On the contrary, while perhaps ill-conceived and over the top, the public venting answered questions many of us fans have had. And for that, i thank him.
So when I see chad state “I made a huge mistake venting in a public forum and I deeply regret it. “

What do I think it means? Either…

1. I hurt myself by damaging my professional persona (remember, he is still a businessman, with his hands in numerous projects- there may be real or perceived professional blowback)
2. I didn’t like my own behavior- i myself am a bit of a hothead, and have on a few occasion was not happy w/the way i behaved..
3. The venting is compromising the lawsuit
4. The public apology for the venting is part of a settlement
5. Any or all of the above.

What do I think it DOESN’T mean…

Being OK with what Ed “supposedly” (two sides two sides uhoh.gif) did and forgiving him

I with you on this one. Time does tend to heal wounds, but I'm having a hard time believing enough time has passed to allow this one to close.

We’ve all had a chance to vent our frustrations, anger and anxiety but now its time to heal through forgiveness. I assure you that I personally want the best for all of my band mates, their families and their creative efforts. I want the best for the entire global Live family.

If the lawsuit is still ongoing, the above paragraph is total nonsense. Anything Chad Taylor says should be taken with a grain of salt anyway.

Anything you say should be taken with a grain of salt too.

QUOTE(zmanpga @ Jul 12 2010, 6:31 am) *

from day one I have refused to take sides or take cheap shots @ Ed or any other band member...this is my favorite band PERIOD!...their music has impacted my life for the last 15 years and I truly appreciate them... I took steps to learn how to play guitar and start singing about 15 years ago,...playing in my 1st real band at 50 years old(2007)..learning how to play about 24 or more Live songs...having the opportunity to meet the band numerous times and become friends with Adam and an opportunity to open for Adam twice last year....I only wish the best for all the members of LIVE..if you people truly loved LIVE...shut the fuk up..back the fuk off and help them all succeed...

Noooooooo, fuck ed. I will not support a cheater, liar, manipulator and thief. You choose to do it? Fine. Truly loving Live has nothing to do with not wanting to support a fake ass christian, hypocrit thief scumbag.

So in short, you shut your ass licker and support who you will. I do not support ed, will not buy any of his music from this point forward, nor will I go see him in concert. Not because of anything anybody has said. See, I'm a free thinker unlike most of you braindead zombie assholes trolling this place. I think for myself, you should try it one day. My thoughts are that Ed is a manipulative piece of garbage, period. End of story.

If Live do reunite, which I'm almost certain they won't, I will not support them with Ed as their frontman, nor will I attend any show, or buy any further merchandise. Period.

Wow!! Amen sistah!!

Can't tell that to fucktards like Nick. He's to busy being brainwashed and manipulated to the point of utter retardation. But I don't expect much from a grown man who a huge Disney and Justin Bieber and Ed K fan. Not to mention his infatuation with Barry FUCKING Manilow!!

nuff said.

Nice! I like "hiatus" and "make-up". Indicating some potential for Live to reunite? Good to see the blog return after everything was deleted. As a skeptic, you can still guess that there are some unspoken potential gains and choice timing with Chad's blog posts...but even if there are, I'm glad to know that hes at least speaking about Live with Ed in mind. Maybe they'll put out a rocking song again one day!

Still holding onto your hoax theory chum?

Not sure where your seeing Chad say reunion.....inferring hell freezing over, hiatus & make up analogies? Ed's interview, he states he'll never close the door......he might as well start groveling cause he's got a lot of penance to do for the entire Live family.

Well, I don't rule out that there could be other intentions when making a blog post.

No, he obviously didn't say that Live was getting together right now. But it is a shift. "Look, bands fight, break-up and make-up all the time (it had just never happened to mine before)."

Officially, the terms were that they broke up, and Ed was fired. Now we're hearing him say "hiatus"? Just wishful thinking....

Did Ed say that he'll never close the door? I have to read that. These statements of Ed and Chad seem like they might possibly be in tandem, to which end, I can only speculate.

He does and I commend him for it. We are all emotional on here, for better or worse. We all share the pain of the band breakup and we all go through the stages of that grief in different ways. Part of me should feel compassion for Ed, but I do feel some contempt for many reasons I've listed in these boards. Time will heal all parties. thumbsup.gif

I agree with what Chad said: the upside is we get TWO new albums and I bet at least one of them will make you happy if you were a Live fan. If you're really lucky, BOTH of them will work for you for different reasons, and then you're a double winner. (Chicken dinner.)

Unfortunately, as a Live fan, I find it difficult to look at the upside. Because this was my favorite band. And I looked at Ed as an inspiration. And I expected better of Live. The way it ended, and the tarnish of the character of someone I admired, and the giant poop stain on Live's legacy, makes it hard to walk away from it clean after what went down.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be for lifelong friends to come to terms with the pain and betrayal. I'm sure there were some sleepless nights and feelings of anger to be contended with. I know people who have been betrayed and stolen from by firends, family and girlfriends and it's difficult when the feelings of betrayal set in. I don't know how Chad can move on to healing and forgiveness, but I wish him well with it. And I totally disagree with those who begrudge CC&P any expression of their feelings about it out of some blind loyalty to Ed.

I've gotta say, I really think SFBM was a bigger poop stain on Live's legacy than how it ended.
