From Ed's statements I'm sure he hasn't found Christ, he seems to believe in all religions as paths to God (or something to that degree). But I do agree with you that he seems extremely happy, now whether southern state born again Christian, I would say no, as I am from Texas, a Christian, and my eyes aren't glazed over (last time I checked).

I wonder how you can believe in all religions .. surely that is a complete contradiction. The only way that is plausable is if you believe they are all stories and that they only have good morals in which case they aren't really what you'd call strong religious beliefs as such.

That is what I understand, this is from a recent interview in a Dutch newspaper:

[...] However, spirituality is still an important drive for Live. "And I mean that as spirituality, not as religion", Kowalczyk emphasizes. "I don't have much up with organised religion, with dogma's. I don't believe in one God. I don't believe in a holy scripture".

"I know quite a lot about religions, I practice zen meditation and use certain things from various religions to enlighten myself mentally. Meditation helps me to concentrate, to distinguish the main issues from the side-issues and to reflect what I do right and wrong".

(translation goofs are mine)

To me the reason Live are a long way from MJ is Ed has learnt and discovered alot in the last 15 years and instead of deeper lyrics that need interpretation he writes now for all people and to make a positive difference to as many as he can. Those who want to listen. He has developed to here and the change in style of writing has happened on his his way to here. His distance to here smile.gif I like Ed's older writing style alot, which seemed to change at TDTH era, but he is still a great writer now!

Dan.

You need to read it carefully dude, I was talking about their NEXT album.

Ok yeah I read that wrong, but I still stick to what I'm saying. How can you say the next album is going to be a return to their best stuff when SFBM is one of their worst? The guitars aren't solid on SFBM so what makes you think they will be solid on the next one?

I'm looking at the similarities here from MJ to SFBM,they don't sound anything alike by the way, nothing. However they are both my least favourite, and they both have no art on the cd,therefore MJ is there first,SFBM will be there last. That it is my prediction.

I´m pretty sure SFBM won´t be their last

If they're having this much trouble releasing SFBM in the US, I can see how it might be their last release w/ a major label in the US.

But I doubt Ed will quit making music. There's no way! They will find a way to get their music out there, even if it's only through the interet, which is fine by me. They'll probably make their best music this way, without any pressures from a record label.

Nope... sorry - this is as good as we'll be getting from Live from now on.

There'll be no more dark Samahdi-like songs, or raw unrestrained TC songs..

But hey - it's not that bad!

Ed said at the beginning of 2006 (so after SFBM was finished for a long time) in a dutch music magazine, that we must not be tooo suprised when Live would do some experimental things upcomin' years

They never would have signed a contract for only one US album. Sony either has to release the total amount of albums on the contract or pay LIVE a huge fee to break the deal. They're still making money for them overseas. 200,000+ copies in the US ain't terrible compared to some artists with albums out there. I wouldn't worry too much. The bigger question is whether LIVE will stay together long enough to finish this contract.

I doubt LIVE will break up anytime soon. They are most profitable when together. Sure they all have other side projects, but LIVE is their bread and butter. They could tour around the next ten years and make good money doing so. They look to still be having fun on stage, why break up?

I'm only saying that because they are trying different sounds. I'm being optimistic.
