I love the generalization of all people who enjoy Ed's music and goes to his shows.

Not all the ones that enjoy it, just the ones that make ridiculous comments about it.

QUOTE(SJN1279 @ Jul 11 2010, 7:18 pm) *

Ramy Antoun has much more personality on stage than Chad Gracey ever had. The Live songs that the new band is playing sound just as good as they did when Live was playing them. There really is no drop off in sound at these shows at all. I found that most surprising, because I expected the new band not to sound as good, it just isn't the case.
you are such a stupid person it is becoming pathetic

"Stand" from the show. Starting about the 2:55 mark, it should give an extra 3 pages to this thread.

Thats all I could hear too, in the "rockin'" chorus it was just - one two three, one two three, one two three ... like I said, replaceable by a drum machine.

A drum machine would be a major improvement.

I have to agree about the drummer. He's solid (when he's on), but when I saw him play with Ed in Buffalo and they did Live stuff, he wasn't super comfy... he was improvising some of Gracey's work (for instance the breakdown/bridge beat of LC) and what he did didn't really fit at all and it was over-simplified. He missed some changes, didn't know some of the forms.. kind of disappointing. The only thing that saved it was having Adam up there.. He was holding them all together. Adam is the man thumbsup.gif

Also, another thing that bothered me (while I'm on the topic) was that the new band is using some well-established Live traditions on stage. A specific example is the intro to I Alone... Live has been doing that for years as a band.. Ed's new band has adopted it as their own and play it the same way.

At times, and at the risk of sounding harsh (I'm not choosing sides on this issue), it was like watching a bad Live cover band with Ed fronting them. I think they need to do more on stage to differentiate themselves from a Live show. Ed and Adam were awesome, no doubt... but the other guys just didn't do it for me. I kept an open mind about it and recognize good musicianship when I see it. Ed and Adam have it... the other guys aren't there (maybe yet?).

2 cents.

For everything that is holy, I never want to see EK doing that dance again around 2:55 in the video. That was both scary and unnecessary. God, if Ed from even a few years ago would've saw that he'd kick his own ass. I agree with the drums in this one too, sounded as though he was just trying to keep time.

oh for the love of god lol. goddamn Ned please stop talking about drumming you tool. I can't stop laughing.

I sure don't go around gyms telling people how to play better dodge ball, or comment on it.

But then again, I guess I could go to your gym class and tell them kids that they should look better while playing. Even though they suck, but hey: here kid put these shades on you will look so much cooler.

It's amazing how dumb people really are these days. Too busy with their cell phones and TVs to care about anything other than how they appear to others. Yeah, the new band is probably better looking than CCP, with that fat fuck Ramy obviously excluded. I guess if you go to shows looking for better looking musicians, more crowd "interaction," and gay dancing then Ed's new band delivers big on all fronts. Then again, so do male strip clubs, but going to one of those instead might mean Ned may have to face a reality he's denied since puberty.
