Amazon.com reviews, beware the street team spam is at work here.

IPB Image Ed Kowalczyk is "Alive" again!!!, July 7, 2010 By Nick Sacco "Nick"<img src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/x-locale/common/carrot._V192251235_.gif" border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> (North Bergen, NJ) - See all my reviews

While some songs keep the old Live flavor(Drive, Grace, Soul Whispers), others take Ed into directions he has never gone before (The Great Beyond, Stand, Fire on the Mountain). The end result is a balanced and overall fantastic listening experience. Needless to say, I highly recommend this album!

IPB Image great album!!, July 8, 2010 By lizabee620<img src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/x-locale/common/carrot._V192251235_.gif" border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> - See all my reviewsThis review is from: Alive (Audio CD) This is a great album with some awesome tracks on it! Ed's voice is as rich and strong as ever. Some songs still have a "Live" feel to them, which is a good thing, and yet he still makes this his own. I recommend this album if you were a Live fan, or even just looking for some new music to listen to. Support Ed !

IPB Image Amazing!, July 9, 2010 By McNulty25<img src="http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/x-locale/common/carrot._V192251235_.gif" border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> - See all my reviewsAmazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Alive (Audio CD) Alive could be considered Ed Kowalczyk's best work to date. His passion for life & music shines through on every aspect of this album. Ed's soulful voice and moving lyrics brought me to tears many a time while listening. After listening to this record if you aren't a fan of Ed Kowalczyk's, you must not be a fan of live, love, and the beauty to be found in the two.

IPB Image Ed's Soul is Alive on this Album!!!, July 7, 2010 By Shelley Merz\"IPB (Toledo, OH) - See all my reviews
\"IPB This review is from: Alive (Audio CD) It is wonderful to see Ed back to his songwriting on this album. Alive showcases the true talent of Ed as a musician. The songs are full of passion & show his return to the stage as a performer. "Grace" shows that we can have faith, even in the hardest or darkest of times, while "Zion" is soulful and full of spirit. "Alive" is a return for Ed to his roots...his love of making music for the fans. I had the awesome opportunity to see Ed perform in NYC the day of the album release and it was so great to see his true excitement over this album. It is also wonderful to see how much into the music he gets when he performs. The new band works so well together and it really feels like they've been creating music together for a long time, rather than just a few months. Many Live fans have been waiting a very long time for "Alive" and 7/6/10 marks a day in history for Ed Kowalczyk fans everywhere. May there be many more years of Ed's success as a solo artist!!!!!

IPB Image ed feels "alive" once more..., July 7, 2010 By luvllama21\"IPB - See all my reviewsThis review is from: Alive (Audio CD) as someone who only knew live & their music(and that was only lightning crashes), i became a fan via my husband. i have grown a real appreciation for the quality and depth of ed's lyrics & vocals. with his new album, "alive", ed stays true to his singer/songwriter vibe with a slight rock edge. if you are looking for tracks that build with intensity and are driven from start to finish, check out "grace" and "rome". for a lighter sound try "drink(everlasting love)". no matter what, ed's passion and truth speak volumes in this album and there are songs that will connect with any of its listeners. ed's voice is haunting, strong, and his messages are clear. to me, it seems that ed feels "alive" once more...

IPB Image Alive is Amazing, July 6, 2010 By EddieKFan\"IPB - See all my reviewsThis review is from: Alive (Audio CD) Ed is at his finest moment in his musical career! This a must have album!!! I don't think he is missing his il band mates at all.

God, those reviews were pathetic yet hilarious. Nick considers Night of Nights, Show and Sofia "hard rock"? Time to get your testosterone checked, son.

Best concert DVD ever!, November 12, 2008
This review is from: Live: Live at the Paradiso Amsterdam (DVD)
"Live at the Paradiso" is the rare concert DVD that makes you feel like an actual part of the audience. It is a must buy for a fan of the band Live or rock music fan in general. Just an awesome experience from start to finish!

Really, I thought the music and the camera work sucked!

Stay Away!, August 27, 2007

Collective Soul: Afterwords - Only at Target (Audio CD)
There's a reason its only available at Target, stay away from Collective Soul's latest sellout attempt!

Blasting a band because they toured with Live?

One of the worst concert bands ever, with a terrible setlist!, June 20, 2006

This review is from: New Amsterdam: Live at Heineken Music Hall (Audio CD)
To me, the Counting Crows have been one of the most lackluster concert acts the past two decades. The tracklist for this CD doesn't help since it omits the majority of hit songs the band has released since their inception. Stay away!

Yep, must be the case. I don't care for either band but you would never have written this review if they didn't tour with the band. I really like how 0 of 49 people found this helpful. Great review!

lol at Nick thinking Sofia and Show are hard rock, the guy has no idea. Then again he does like disney so this is about as hardcore as he gets I guess.

These reviews are sickening, seeing this piece of crap get 5 stars is just a fucking shame, any serious person who knows anything about music would bury this thing in a review, these reviews are just as much spam as the "Ned and Ed" one from itunes, some of the itunes reviews came off as genuine though ... these just come off as cock sucking.

Wonder if Nick gave Rolling stone influence of his prowess with words to this cover sticker

Wwwwwwwwwwwwwwowwwwwwwwwwwww, that quote is from an old Rolling Stone, but instead of Ed there used to be the word LIVE in there......................... I remember that............. oh...my....god...

Finally got around to getting Alive yesterday. Feels weird not getting it the day it came out like I always did LIVE. The samples I heard were ok but nothing mind blowing so I didn't rush to get it.

I like the cd more than I thought I would. A lot of you guys can't stand the faith/Christian themed lyrics but I'm a Christian so I like that. Some of the tracks sound great right now but I wonder how they will hold up over time. "Stand" for instance. I like this song right now, but it sounds very Daughtry (who I like but some of his songs lose their luster for me rather quickly). I'll go ahead and do my song by song review:

Drive - Decent song. Lyrics are simplistic compared to old Ed lyrics, not saying that is totally bad just pointing it out. I think the band sounds pretty good and Ed's voice is good. 7/10

The Great Beyond - Very different sounding song for Ed. I like it. I'm glad they don't all sound like this but I think it brings a little diversity to an album that could probably stand a little more to be honest. 8/10

Grace - Already heard it a hundred times. Good song. 8/10

Stand - Mentioned it above already. Sounds a little overproduced to me. I don't know...I like it though. 8/10

Drink - Didn't care for the acoustic performances of this song. The album version is a little better but not one of my favorites. 6/10

Zion - Very overproduced. I think the acoustic version with just the drummer was 100x better. Still like the song though. 8/10

In Your Light - Cool song but doesn't really stick out. 7/10

Just in Time - Same as the last song........ 7/10

Rome - One of the best songs on the album. Like it a lot. 9/10

Soul Whispers - Like the verses more than the chorus. This song to me had the potential to be much better imo. I think the chorus sounds like a bridge.....I keep wanting it to go somewhere else. 6/10

Fire on the Mountain - Haven't gotten into this one yet. Its very laid back. Maybe it will grow on me. 6/10

Eat Your Love - Ed kills me with some of the titles he comes up with. E. Y. L. is just a weird title to me, makes me laugh. I think the song sounds really good though. It brings some more diversity so I like that. 9/10

Overall: Not great but not near as bad as some have made it out (just my opinion). I do agree with those that say it sounds rushed. I think a little more time in the studio would have benefited the album. Still, I like it. Hope he continues to develop and takes more time on the next one. 7.5/10

Stand is awesome in concert! I was also really impressed with Rome at the Starland Ballroom. I wasn't a big fan of the song on Alive, but it rocked (am I allowed to say that?) in concert. If you liked the album version, you will love the concert version.
