After I bought it, I went to a mexican restaurant, ate dinner and had a couple beers. Spent ~$20. Was that also a waste, seeing as how I could have cooked mexican at home instead for a lot cheaper? Does that mean I SHOULD have eaten at home? Who decides?

Actually for it to be a similar situation, it would have had to go down like this...

You went in a bought a 3 burrito combo, only to find out that if you ordered it from the counter on the left you got a free side of black beans and rice. So now you have your 3 burrito combo, but you also want the black beans in rice. So you walked over to the special counter and ordered another 3 burrito combo, with the free side of black beans and rice. Now you're sitting at your table with two 3 burrito combos and your side of black beans and rice. You eat 3 burritos and the black beans and rice, but you have 3 burritos going to waste just sitting on the table.

Or you eat them as well and throw up.

That's good, but it's more like they said sure you can buy the combo, but you already have the burritos so you can pay for the combo but we're only going to give you the free stuff.

My point wasnt about bonus tracks and buying extra stuff, but about what some people consider a waste of money (eating at home vs. eating at a restaurant).

I have one near downtown, and one in the burbs (where I live right now).

Downtown is Nuevo Laredo. Tex-mex type restaurant. It's very well known, consistently wins the 'Best of Atlanta' awards. The one in the burbs is called Laredo's. Interestingly enough, they are not related.
