You have a strange definition of unity. There are only two songs on BoP that were not written solely by Ed.

And strangely, was just as much of a dud from a commercial perspective as SFBM & V.

QUOTE(+Ed+ @ Jul 6 2010, 4:26 pm) *

Holy hell, you fucking... I do not know what. It has taken you dozens of posts to say the same things over and over again for them not to make anymore sense.

I do not expect my words to make sense, as you may get used to, I simply put my ideas into words and they DOmake sense.

HEre, consider yourself a hero. I found my post for you. Try and click a couple of times to read the whole discussion.

grab it

Here. Second post in a row with the same words.

Are people idiots to read all your posts twice to get them better?

Damn, for the first time on these boards I am thinking of considering an ignoration possibility....

I don't speak to everyone when I post. Often when I post I speak directly to the person I quote. That is because I don't expect people to follow pages of direct quotes I've had with other people in order to follow the conversation, especially from different threads - like you did there. I also repeat myself because often because many posters do not address the question or a point the first time, much like how you've complained others can be.

I think we could adopt a little bit from each other. Take it easy...

Meanwhile, you took a potshot at me first, I had no idea where it was coming from, and I still disagree with what you said now that I had a chance to read the other post. I believe I answered the question for the response of mine that you quoted. The quote itself was even me basically addressing the other posters statement, repeating word for word what they said. A direct response head on.

And on your other thread, I would say at least one of the posters you claim speak firmly and address things well, is notoriously bad at addressing things properly at times. Its more that they just agree with your opinions.

At least it wasn't Ed kicking the rest of the band out of the process.

This is true about the BOP credits, does SS and TDTH have many more credits from CCP in comparison?

I figured it was somewhat typical for only a few tracks to have more than one credit on Live albums from the late 90's onward. However, isn't it true that BOP was an album where the whole band was in the studio? V was mostly Ed, and SFBM was not recorded together as a band right? 2003 had way more rocking shows around BOP too, I thought more so than V and SFBM eras.

So Ed couldn't have done a solo thing in between +Live+ albums? Noooo, because that's never been done before..... sarcasm.gif

Ed clearly wanted credit from then on...would it have been better to go solo and not bring this understanding up to the band? It would have been an inevitable conversation I would think. Meanwhile, Ed probably still felt that Live was the best way to go, as did the rest of the guys. So how does that specifically make Ed unethical? I am up for suggestions haha

TDTH has four tracks that are credited to more than just Ed.

The SS CD insert doesn't list songwriting credits. What it does say is the following:

"LIVE is Chad Taylor, Patrick Dahlheimer, Chad Gracey, and Ed Kowalczyk"

Not even a mention of who does what. In TDTH, it is done via band breakdown (i.e. vocals vs. guitar vs. drums, etc).

You appear to be intentionally mis-reading the post. Ed could have done his own solo thing in between Live albums. It's been done before with great commercial success for both the solo artist and the band. Phil Collins and Genesis did it for 10 years.

You're not up for suggestions. You're not listening. Nor do I think you ever plan on listening.

Nah, I read you fine, I'm listening. Looks like you explained your reason this time, which is good, nice job...you're saying that all parties might have had success if Ed went solo and came back to the band. Somehow I doubt this would happen. However, Ed probably figured that his first and best option would be to keep Live, and still try to keep credits to his new songs...essentially, it was decided by the band that this was best. Who knows if it was the best idea at the end, I'm sure it was thought over by many people.

Again, even if he went solo, if he had his mind set on not sharing songwriting credits, then it might have been pertinent to tell the band about his intentions at the time that he did anyway...is there sense going solo, delaying the news, and then upon return tell your band? They might have even been under contract to put an album out as a band. Who knows

Then they can film that show "Bands Reunited," like they did a few years ago on VH-1 sarcasm.gif

Your second paragraph is nonsensical. If he wanted to have an album with all the song writing credits, he should have gone solo earlier. If he couldn't stand being in the band and not having all the song writing credits, he should have had the courage to quit the band.

Instead, he chose a path of passive-aggressive bullshit until they were finally forced to kick him out.

No..the second paragraph makes sense because I explain in the first paragraph "However, Ed probably figured that his first and best option would be to keep Live, and still try to keep credits to his new songs." It seems reasonable that Ed could stand being in the band, he never tried to leave it, he was kicked out.

How would you say Ed was passive-aggressive prior to the ultimatum?

Because Ed wanted total control over the artistic process but wouldn't do the one thing that would give him total control, simply going off to do his own thing. Instead he pushed his lifelong friends out of the picture in terms of collaborating on the songs.

In the end, they had to make the decision for him.
