So much so that you didn't even notice the change until someone posted the lyric on a message board.

I never heard the song live. So how should I notice it?

I believe that's an import, although it's not indicated on the page. There is a 1 cd import being released on the same day (July 20th) for $23.49. This is the CD + DVD version that's also going to be available overseas.

That's a bunch of money to be paying for a mediocre at best album.

Well these tracks certainly aren't any better since the first time I listened to them. Is there any way that I can vote that it sucks for a 2nd time?

Drive - sounded alright to my ears. It's pretty obvious that it's a song about giving his life over to God. Lyrics are awkward at times, but otherwise, it's a no-harm spell. Could do without the immediate oooohs and ahhhhhs.

The Great Beyond - is where this song should be sent, never to be heard from again.

Grace - I like this one. When I first heard it, I had hoped that the rest of the album would be similar.

Stand - has more oooohs and woooooahs that just seem to get in the way of the song. It could grow on me, whether favorably or like a rash has yet to be determined.

Drink (Everlasting Love) - I just don't know what to make of this one. It starts off nice enough, but it just doesn't lyrically flow. I just kept getting the feeling that he was in need of a Thesaurus to find the next word.

Zion - I'm going to put this one in the like category as well.

In Your Light - catchy song though I could easily see it on a Songs of Worship compilation being sold on some late night infomercial. Cue the swaying masses, hands clasped, eyes closed, looking toward the Rapture.

Just in Time - Zzzzzzzzz. Don't think there was a single thing about this song that stuck with me.

Rome - Ooooooooh, Wooooooaah, let it end. For fuck's sake, the album is short enough as it is, can he please fucking quit it with the non-word vocalizations? Didn't even get to the end of the song I was so done with it.

Soul Whispers - I'd like this song a lot more if someone else had written the lyrics. Again, it just doesn't flow and gets in the way of what could have been a much better song. That being said, the chorus of this song just screams for a "point mic at crowd and let them go" moment.

Fire on the Mountain - I'm going to have to go with the fire on the mountain being his Moses moment. Otherwise, the title is nonsensical and the song along with it.

Overall, I'd rate this as cafeteria food music. It's meant to do no harm, but when it's bad, it's very bad. A few tracks I could enjoy. A couple more could grow on me. But the rest was just bleh.

I pre-ordered the album, but since I wasn't sure if I would get it tomorrow I decided to listen to the stream of the album. My opinions on the album based on 1 listen...overall, I like the album. It does seem like it's an album written for his wife and children. Some of the stand-out tracks for me are Zion, Stand, Soul Whispers (love the haunting sound), and Fire on the Mountain. A couple of the tracks I'm not really into are The Great Beyond and Rome. I would have liked Ed to be a little more experimental on the album. For example, more songs performed with an acoustic sound and I think having a song or two focused on the keyboard. I know many people aren't a big fan of keyboards in Live's music, but if done right it can add a powerful sound to a song. So, that's my first impression. I'm sure I'll crank the album up on my stereo when I get it and get a better feel for the songs. That's it for me right now. So, don't bash me too much while I sleep tonight lol.gif

Not surprising that thieves aren't fond of Christian themes.

Yeah, Ed the Christian, singing about love god and all that crap. While stealing money from his lifelong friends......who's the bigger hypocrit and idiot I wonder, Nick or Ed.

I voted somewhere in between. I guess in the context of what Live has done before it kinda does suck, but this aint Live and clearly edward isnt trying to go there (despite all the promotional spin), and thats fine with me. Its pop. Happy light sunday driving to the beach music. While it wont get nearly as many spins from me when im hallucinating on a wine trip in my room throwing myself around to the likes of secret samadhi, i dont mind small doses of this stuff when the mood is right.

and thats all there really is to say about that. i hope he is successful with it, and somewhere down the line he can find the motivation or interest in doing something a little more elaborate and interesting with his former band.
