The Dutch certainly are living up to expectations for once. I'd love to see a Netherlands-Spain final. However, after each team had played one match, no one had impressed me more than the Germans. The loss to Serbia aside, nothing I've seen has changed my opinion on that account.

The Germans are indeed very impressing.

Imo nobody can beats them the way they are playing now.

Germany vs Spain in Durban on Wednesday...

Phew! The tournament flew by so fast! Amazing month! Being a football fan, I will never forget it!

Got my tickets - Can't wait for the match now (Thanks Bas! You awesome Dutchman you!)

Hopefully, will be back posting regularly on the boards from next week once all the excitement and chaos that has gone with it has died down...

+Ed+...i hope Russia gets the 2018 - you will love it!

So I've actually watched parts of a few games recently. I saw most of Spain vs Paraguay which I actually quite enjoyed surprisingly. I think I'm hoping for a Germany v Dutch final with the Germans to win. But basically my allegiances in this world cup has been dictated by the Herald Sun's websites section "world cup's hottest fans" .. so the basic rule of thumb is whenever 2 teams are playing I consult the pictures and whoever has the hottest fans has my support!

Hey, sharpz, got a question for ya; as you're an insider.

On dutch TV they are saying that it's totally ridiculous that these stadiums were built, cos they cost hundred of millions, and a few blocks away people live in poverty.

After the WC those stadiums become useless? They will play rugby in some of them? But I doubt if over 50,000 people will come to watch a rugby match.

So, you think it was a ridiculous thing to build that many stadiums and stuff rather than using this money to help the poor people?

Or did the WC create a lot of jobs for the people and did a lot of good?

It definitely brought loads of money into the country, so I guess Mandela will get them work for the people. At least a bit.
