So, my wife and I are throwing this 4th of July party tomorrow and were doing some late-spring cleaning. We put it off, because well, during the spring we had our first kid, Ethan Alexander Bishop.

During the pregnancy he was always responsive to music, I'm a big theater geek and have built a theater (any other theater geeks can see it on my site www.scubasaid.com) in my home that has a very good sound setup. Whenever we would watch a movie and music was playing (one notable memory is MJ's "This is it") he would dance in the womb.

This afternoon while cleaning, I was showing my wife "Alive" and in doing so I also had her listen to "Honest Man" and "Trecedim(sp)". My son was relatively responsive during Drive, then as Great Beyond came on he literally started to frown and whimper. I then put on "Honest Man" and he stopped. This is not an exaggeration of any sort. He sat in his bassinet all through "Honest Man" and "Trecedim" and kicked, moved his arms and overall was active and smiling. Afterwhich I went back to "Alive" on "Drink" and my son started to frown and then cried.

So there you have it, a pure response from a musically untainted unbiased reviewer. "Alive" fails to move a 2-month old, how can it move a grown ass adult?

My son clearly likes to rock, and well..... anyone that wishes to rock isn't Ed's target audience.

But people who don't know any better is Ed's target audience, so a 2 month old is Ed's dream targ... oh wait, he's not because he can't give Ed money, scrap that idea.

What happens if you let your son listen to one of Live's fucking masterpieces? (MJ to TDTH)

Same voice, but I bet he would rock out.. smile.gif

He's asleep now, but I'll conduct another test with Honest Man and Trecedim again, then I'll switch to Waitress, White Discussion and Heropsychodreamer. I suspect he'll be down with those tracks!!

That's so funny. My daughter, who is three, is also into the harder rock. She loves Honest Man but I haven't played any other TGF for her yet. It will be getting played a lot though once the cd comes out and I'm sure she will love it. It's just her style! She also likes older Live. It is the funniest thing ever to see a toddler rocking out! Gotta raise them right though! smile.gif

Do I have to call Child Protection Services on you? Subjecting a child to Alive falls into the realm of child abuse.

My kids love rock. I'll have to repeat this test when I get the album to see if they verify the results.
