btw, Vine Street was the TDC bside, right?

But how can it be that there are such a good studio quality versions of Deeper and Don't Wait are available? They aren't released official, right?

No, I don't think they were. But it looks like they were taken out on the very last moment. I remember that Vine Street and Don't Wait were on the earlier version of TDTH. The one that was called Pilgrimage To the Southern Stars; Dan posted it on the site a while back...

eh.gif hmmm! interesting to know... was Pilgrimage To the Southern Stars meant as the album title before TDTH came up as the title? Don't Wait and Vine Street would have fit good on the album, cause then it would have cool rockers. Which songs of TDTH were not at the ealy setlist than, or did it just contain more songs in that early version?

1. Sun

3. Run To tho Water
4. Sparkle
5. Feel the Quiet River Rage
6. Happy Hour (=Voodoo Lady)
7. Amphibious (=Where Fishes Go)
8. They Stood Up For Love
9. The Distance
10. Fijian Seas (=Dance With You)
11. Face And Ghost
12. We Walk In A Dream
13. Don't Wait
14. Meltdown
15. Vine Street

Some songs were a bit longer than the ones on TDTH.

Its possible The Vine Street recording was from the SS tour in 1997. The song sounded much different then.

The '97 version of 'Vine Street' is not available on bootlegheaven.com, so I uploaded it here :
http://rapidshare.de/files/18672050/201197.rar.html

The *.rar archive also contains 'Shit Towne' from the same night. The show was cut short because Ed got hit by a shoe. You can clearly hear him say "!!$@!". whistle.gif

Btw, I'm still waiting for someone to PM me that small 'New Unsurfaced Outtake' sample please surrender.gif

Yeah, I'm interested, but also incredibly frustrated because I hate being teased...especially repeatedly. wink.gif

I just received the clip today, having signed up after hearding about this clip.

Based on the chords and rhythm it is alternate lyrics to "Face and Ghost"

"Judge and the jury baby, I'm coming down tonight" = "Ain't no peace in the valley baby, 'til the darkness turns to light"

My little fat kid is loving this alternative version of F&G - maybe it was written for it?

Dan, did you put your hands on a recording of the '98 Viper Room show? There were rumors about the existence of a video from this show.

No, the name was invented by John "swami" Benson of LRC for his compilation of songs leaked before TDTH even had a name. I think there is a boot now that carries this title.

I found the following video of Ed playing 'Face and Ghost' solo in 1999. The video was on the official Live site back then - I think it was recorded in Germany...
http://rapidshare.de/files/19350767/FILE_53.RM.html

Be warned, it's a very poor single cam recording. The audio sucks and the picture quality is the same, but what do you expect from a 1.5 megabyte RealVideo file?

If you want to view the video and not download the intrusive RealPlayer, try Real Alternative.

I can confirm it's an early live version of 'Vine Street', so nothing new at the moment cos' we already got such stuff on the Summer Sounds '98 tape.
