I like to reminisce about the Live days of old. Since we've got the first Live show thread I thought a favorite Live show thread would be interesting. So what is yours?!

Mine is tough because I really loved my first show in 97. I also loved their York Fair show, I was front row center and they had switched up their setlist that night for the first time in a long while. Then there was the first time I saw them up close at the 9:30 Club after the HFStival. Then there was the time I got to see them while standing on the side of the stage. That Millenium show was pretty cool too even though I was in the very last row of the place! Cleary, I cannot choose!

08/02/97 @ Montage Mountain in Scranton, PA - since it was my first and will never forget.

10/20/99 @ The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA - this was a surreal show taking place in hallowed ground & right after TDTH was released...Where Fishes Go was amazinginly performed heavy & hard!!!

02/06/00 @ Suny Cobleskill (Bouck Gym) in Cobleskill, NY - Lots of naked boobs, bras onstage...not to mention a naked woman standing next to me. Front & center on the wall. Got my autograph stub in the subfreezing weather.

10/05/00 @ Fiddler's Green in Denver, CO - 40 minute show, snowing, 34 degrees......that's dedication to seeing Live.

That was such an AWESOME show! I remember going nuts when they played Hold Me Up, which I think was the 1st time they ever played it in concert. Sadly, this was also my last Live show but it was a great one to remember them by.

Wow, i was kind of like, I must be crazy to go see Live outdoors in CO in the autumn. I think Ed said this is the first time they played when snow was falling.

I'm not good with dates, but here are some memorable ones for me:

Rolling Rock 2001 - This was the 1st time I ever saw Live in concert and was actually suppose to be my 1st ever concert. However, a couple of weeks before the show my friend won tickets to see Fuel on the Intrepid in NY for the night before. So after the Fuel show, my friend and I drove back to NJ, got home at 1:30 am, picked up our two friends, and then drove 6 hours to Latrobe, PA for the show. I remember waiting impatiently in the 90 degree heat all day to see Live and they didn't disappoint.

Roseland Ballroom, NYC, November 2001 - 2 months after 9/11, the place was electric. During "All Over You" which I think was the 2nd song in the set, I looked over to my right and saw a shadow of CT stomping on the wall. Awesome stuff! In middle of the concert, they played a 3 song acoustic set of They Stood Up For Love, Imagine, and Call Me a Fool. Then when they played Overcome, the crowd started chanting "USA...USA...USA". It was so emotional, gave me chills down my spine.

Crocodile Rock, Allentown PA, April 2007 - Drove in the middle of the Nor'easter where I could barely see a foot in front of me. The place was a dump as the roof was leaking on me the entire show, but it was worth it.

Starland Ballroom, Sayreville NJ, 2009 - Already mentioned. My last Live show. Gas Head.Top.Purifier.Best version ever of The Distance.HOLD ME UP. Enough said!

That was the best show of their 3 show PA tour that weekend. Better than the Chameleon Club show (they had a bit too much to drink before they took the stage), but you're right the place was a dive, barrels in the middle of the floor to catch the water dripping through the roof, the garage doors on the side of the room were leaking, but the band was on that night. Those were some, if not the only, Live shows without a set list, Ed had a separate mic that just went to the sound guy, he picked it up between songs to tell them what they were going to play next.

The Allentown show was definitely interesting with the leaking roof...always thought like that show could have used White, Discussion to truly wrap up the night though.

The AC House of Blues show the night or two after Sayreville in March 2009 was great too. Same deal with first times seeing Hold Me Up, Top, Gas Hed, and Purifier was great.

Another AC House of Blues show back in October or November of 2006. This was the last show of their tour other than a private show at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...Ed had a beard and let the hair grow out a bit. Proclaimed the next Live album would be angry. Maybe the first time I had heard Iris that night.

Borgata show in 2008. Played the event center, and was when they brought Waitress back. During the solo at the end of the song CT sprinted across the stage and stomped through the whole thing. Night ended with him humping his amp during White, Discussion.

Sayreville in May 2006. A few nights later at the Electric Factory in Philly. Both awesome, loud, sold out shows. In the middle of White, Discussion at Starland...Chad went around and knocked over a bunch of mic stands before the solo. The man went off.

And last...the other AC House of Blues show back in 2005. Anyone remember Chad falling down and doing a full barrel roll in the middle of I Alone? This was the first time I heard any of the SFBM songs, not realizing I would be completely indifferent to their existence soon enough.
