Fish,
In my opinion, it's pretty simple really. He decided a while back that his response was going to be that he's too consumed with his solo stuff. He's not going to come out and say that he doesn't like them, they don't like him etc....

I'm with you though, no one is so busy that they wouldn't know anything about their former best friends new project. I guess he thinks he's being politically correct or something.

Assume for a moment that Ed hasn't really done anything wrong so we take what he did to the TGF boys out of the picture. Even if he has been hurt by some of their comments towards him (even though I think they were deserved, but that's another argument). You'd think to be politically correct and more truthful he could say something like "Yeah they formed a new band with guys from Candlebox called The Gracious Few, it's a bit heavier than what I'm doing now which isn't really my thing or that sound I'm going for right now, I do wish them luck, but I'm very focused on my own work at the moment .... bla bla" and so on from there.

It would just come across a lot more genuine without going into issues of the fights or break up or anything like that because as Fish stated, whether he's lying or actually telling the truth it's fucked up either way.

No, no, no, that's so last month. He's now Ed Kowalczyk of Live. Stop living in the past. tongue.gif

Of course, if we wait around long enough, he might come back to being Eddie K. whistle.gif

Seriously though, have you ever seen anyone take so many shots at re-branding himself in such a short period of time?

Oops, my bad. Maybe somewhere in his circle of rebranding he'll actually land on the Ed Kowalczyk of Live that gave him the opportunity to be Ed Kowalczyk of Live.

You aren't the only one. Trust me on this. I have a fucking tattoo on my leg, that I used to be proud to declare was a Live tattoo. Now I don't bring up Live at all when people ask me about it.

Well I think this interview is very telling about Ed. When asked about his current project is all relaxed and excited to talk about it. When asked about the other guys and their music he is almost speechelss and becomes very uncomfortable with his body language trying to get around the question. He stutters, moves up in his chair, and then says keeps repeating he is foucused on his current project. His body language says he is very uncomfortable talking about the subject. I also find it very unlikely that he has not checked on what they are doing. If this was a polygraph he would fail completely!

I am blown away by the fact that Ed keeps saying he hasn't heard anything from TGF and that he doesn't pay any attention to what the other guys are doing because he is too focused on his own thing. I find it hard to believe, but if it is true, then I am even more blown away by the fact that he doesn't have the normal level of human curiosity to check into what his former band of 20 years has done. Either Ed is a liar, or he is weird. I think it would take an "unusual" personality to ignore your former band's activity. My goodness, I can't even stay off this message board for 30 minutes without wondering what the heck is going on with all this drama! How does he not pay any attention at all to the new band and new music that has been made by the 3 former best friends with whom he has created music for over 20 years? Even if only to see what they have done on their own creatively. No one is THAT busy. I just can't wrap my head around it.

I agree mate. same shit we been sayin here for weeks now, cept we get told we're taking 'sides'.

and while we're on that, know what? Fuck sides. No one is taking sides.

Pokey, +Ed+, FRC, OTD, AItkens, Heather, sallypa etc (and I) wanted LIVE to succeed just as much as anyone - it didn't. Natural to be upset about it - but no one here is bitter.

With the new music on offering from both Ed and TGF, it is natural and interesting to compare what's going on and how what sounds to whom - because we've all shared so much of the same shit down the years.

Give it a break with this sides shit.

No one wants Ed to fail. We'd love it if he came out with something that blew us away. Love it to bits. Asshole or not. TGF have done stuff that is childish and weird too, but in the end we're here for the music. It's easier in a way to look past the crappy stuff when you have these amazing tunes to go back and listen to.

But, when you hear this kinda stuff from Ed, and you know it's BS - and from what's been going down lately with the LIVE split and their court issues etc, it is all too coincidental for us to be just taking 'sides'. And to top it off, he puts out a sub-standard album filled with Pop catchy tunes and calls it rock cos it has some electronic tuned instruments is quite insulting to his legacy as someone as involved with LIVE as he was.

You can't fool the fans.
