Ed's new album is being released on an indie label and will not be heard by the masses. The best way for him to get his new material heard is by playing it alongside the hits of Live, cause the classic songs is what will bring the majority of fans to the concert.

How is my allegiance to Ed any different from your allegiance to TGF?

The biggest difference that I see, is if you were to write a post against TGF I would actually respond to everything you said. You ignore a great deal of what is actually said on these message boards in favor of things that you can actually respond to. I imagine that you'll ignore this, which is why I don't really bother any more.

I don't really see anyone in the TGF camp as obsessed over marketing and sales and promotion and charting and crowd numbers as you are. The people who have a stronger allegiance to TGF seem to have it because of the music .. I'm not sure what yours is about.

I for one am not affraid to call TGF out on where I think they've gone wrong or something I don't like, Guilty Fever as I've mentioned before, not exactly my thing so far. I know OTD and Aitkin have been a bit more glowing in almost every way of TGF but they still don't to me come across like it's blind allegiance that you have. There's seems driven by the music, yours doesn't..

Don't all of you realize that there is no point in arguing with Nick? Just let him have his mediocre music and be done with it.

Haha, I have no problem with that as I have a handful of mediocre pop acts that I follow really closely. I just find Ed's new music to be really bland and uninspiring, but I gave it a fair shot.

Yeah. His marketing ideas are usually the most cliched, worst examples of what marketing tries to avoid. I hesitate to point this out though, because I'm certainly not about to help out camp Eddie.

You don't think having 100 fans show up to their headlining stage when 100,000 fans were at the festival that day, was a cold wake-up call to The Gracious Few? You play Summerfest for exposure, not to headline in front of less fans than can be found at your typical dive bar anywhere in the country.

Ed and TGF both have to build audiences, and it will not be easy.

You keep throwing out this 100 fans number. Source please. I'm not saying it was a huge crowd, but until I get word from someone who was, ya know, actually there regarding the size of the crowd, I sure as hell am not taking your word for it.

TGF had more than that at Fat Daddy's. And mind you, Fat Daddy's is normally closed on Thursdays. They opened specifically for TGF. So this is not just incidental traffic.

Oh yeah, and I know this because, unlike you at Summerfest, I was there.

That's sad. Truly sad. If he had any say in that at all, I'm embarrassed for him.

If you had the pleasure of spending any time talking to him in person about rock and roll, like I had the opportunity to do, you would already know the answer to this question.

But since you haven't, I'll be happy to help you. He has a pretty good idea of what he wants to hear from a rock band. He made that clear before the show. And TGF delivered on all of it.

A person in attendance I found on Facebook. He said they were lucky to have 100 people at the show that night.

These are the sorts of things you see advertising washed up stars desperately trying to pull a crowd to earn a buck.
