The Distance to Here qualifies as classic Live too. To some it ranks as some of the band's best work.

TDTH was such a departure though from the previous 3 albums. The first 3 albums dealt with politics, cultural issues, anger, and weren't focused on the sappy love bullshit. Its no wonder they appealed to a broader audience. Classic Live is and will always be the first 3 albums. TDTH is a great cd, but its not TC, MJ, or SS.

However based on your own views of success and the music industry, TDTH wasn't the better album, since it was out sold. I'll take Beauty of Grey, 10,000 Years, Good Pain as being loaded with more meaning and culturally significant themes over anything that TDTH had to offer.

TDTH didn't sell as well as SS in the US becuase it didn't come after Throwing Copper. SS actually killed a big junk of Live's popularity in the states. TDTH was a much bigger hit overseas than SS though.
