I agree that lryics on The Dream surpass anything on SFBM for me.

As for Adam not being anywhere close to Ed, that's a joke. I've seen both Live and Adam perform live at least 20 times each and I can tell you that Adam puts his heart and soul into every performance. His live voice is amazing and he truly loves what he does and has a real passion for it. I haven't seen anything like that coming from Ed in a long time.

The Dream represents every single thing that I love about music. It's real, it's from the heart, it's raw and it moves me. He doesn't make music to sell records or make money, he does it because he loves to and he feels like he HAS to share it with people. I haven't been able to say that about Live's work in a very long time either.

Here's a little quote from the song The Dream that pretty much sums it up for me:

"I don't need your money, don't need attention
Don't need starry eyes or fancy types
I've got the dream."
As I always say, everyone has their own tastes an opinions and I truly believe that The Dream is better and guess what, I'm allowed to.

quoted for agreement on many many levels. I've seen both perform, met the brothers and hands down, imho, adam is true, honest and raw, as in not over produced and seduced by all the trappings of the rock n roll lifestyle.

hi heather and burd...my sista bitches!!! hug.gif

I thought this poll was about which album is better not who is the better performer.

The Dream is better. I also personally feel that I would rather watch Adam perform any day of the week than Ed. Just my opinion of course. I guess if you like to watch a frontman that takes his sunglasses off and does the buggy eyes at the exact same point of All Over You at every show and also has tape marks for where he needs to stand to do the group hug during Lightening Crashes, Ed is your man. Oh and let's not forget the exact moment when Ed takes off his shirt at every show to show us his muffin top. I prefer a bit more sponteniety in the performances that I see but again, that's just me.

Yeah Ed, does do set things for certain songs, but that is not for each and every song he performs. Also he hasn't taken his sun glasses off for All Over You this whole tour, but I forgot the sound was bad for the once concert you saw in 2005, so it was hard to see what was going on.

You said "The Dream" is the better album and that is fine, but have you even heard "Songs from Black Mountain, yet?" How can you compare the albums if you haven't even heard any of the songs from both alabums yet? You must be a mystic....

Hasn't everyone heard SFBM by now? I have. Yes, I have and guess what? Brace yourself, I don't like it. Can I be entitled to my own opinion now or would you like to keep telling me how wrong I am to feel that way?

Does anyone every get tired of arguing about this shit? So what if someone doesn't like it? So what if someone does? So what if I like The Dream better? Who fucking cares?! As long as you like it why should it matter what anyone else thinks? I just don't get it.

Why did I bother to post here? Why?! Excuse me while I go bang my head against the wall.

Wait a minute - So Nick hasn't heard SFBM yet?! But yet it's so much better than 'The Dream'? And everyone who has heard SFBM and has an opinion on it not being Live's best work is wrong? Oh ok. Its all so clear to me now rolleyes.gif

And as for the topic at hand, I say Adam has what Ed used to have. I've said that before and I totally stand behind it. He makes the hair on your arms stand up with his passion and intensity.

Just because you don't like Ed's new work has much as his old, does not mean the man doesn't have passion for what he is doing. He is working his ass off to make this CD a success and performs his heart out on stage when performing his new material. I know Ed doesn't like to talk to you as much as Adam does, but that doesn't mean that he has less passion than his brother. Just he's not as nice to his fans when he's drunk.

Let's see how nice Adam is if he achieves his brothers success.

I dont give a shit if Ed talks to me! I give a shit if he writes good music!

The same with Adam! For fucks sake, he talks b/c he's in a bar in York. If he blows up and plays huge arenas and becomes an asshole, well good for him! Who the fuck cares?

Good music according to you. You love Collective Soul and there new CD wasn't anything groundbreaking. It was very poppy and much much worse than SFBM in my opinion. Whenever I hear Better Now on the radio I totally cringe. Its like bad 80's music.

However, its fine if you like that sort of thing. It is also okay not to like Live's new cd, but don't say it isn't good music. Just because its not your thing, doesn't mean its not good.
