Just because The Gracious Few is usually louder than Live, doesn't mean they rock more.

Seriously Ned? It's bias, ridiculous statements like that that gets u crushed on these boards. You could've at least qualified it with 94-00, and even than it's a losing arguement. I doubt you've listened to any TGF songs to begin with. Ah, what's it matter, u wouldn't be able to listen to them w/ an open mind regardless. U seriously need your head examined dude. Or maybe u need Ed's jizz to be uncaked from your ears so u can actually hear what inspired music is. Not that formula, bubble gum, pop, christian, written in 2 weeks mess your Master is putting out. Your Eddiction has turned u into a mindless cult member unable to even think at this point. Does Ed appear out of the water each morning and hand deliver u a list of thoughts you're allowed to have for the day...to read along w/ your, I mean his coffee. Man, I defend u the other day and than see this crap, it reminds me why venom is spewed your way so often. U can never concede anything about your spiritual advisor. SO many childish come backs. How old are u? Like 5 I would think. That's the age where we think our parents never do anything wrong either and that they're basically God's no matter what horrible things they do (to their freinds in this case). U know what Ned, just go F the guy and get it over with, we all know that's the ultimate goal. Is that why Ed is selling his house? Are u moving into the Coffee Commune and signing a secret contract to be his pool boy and live in ego (hopefully that's all!) stroker?

Could u at least work on trying to be objective? Damn, it's frustrating. U seem like an all right guy, except for being brainwashed by the Church of Czyk.

QUOTE(Pokey @ Jun 27 2010, 3:20 am) *

Coming from someone who doesn't know the difference between loud music and rock music this is pretty gold. You keep saying Ed's music "rocks", Ed's music is loud. So far this TGF album will rock harder than any live album probably since 1994. I think given the last 16yrs haven't produced a Live album that will rock as much as this that it's a fair call to make.

Just because something "rocks" doesn't make it pleasant to listen to.

That's just it, this music is great to listen to. I gave Ed's album a shot this morning. It was painful. I had to take a break in the middle. It certainly doesn't "rock", not by any stretch of the imagination.

Certain songs do, and others are Hot A/C pop rock. I know I am going to like Ed's album, because I like that style of music.

You like TGF's album, because you like that style of music. It is all personal preference.

If you don't like "rock", well then, this is certainly true. Do you not like "rock"? If you don't, how on earth did you ever stand being a Live fan for anything prior to SFBM? Because all of their best tunes certainly "rocked".

If you don't like "rock", please just say so. This way, everyone can just get over the Quixotic quest attempting to get you to like anything at all about TGF.

God damnit that wasn't even the argument. You decided to say that TGF's album won't rock as much as Live's music. I said it probably will rock a lot more than Live's music has since TC. That had nothing to do with taste or liking it or not liking it, it was just about the style of music. Jesus Christ.

For the most part, I like Hot A/C and Rock music. Hard rock was never my thing, especially the stuff from the 70's.

Your definition of rock is so flawed, its laughable. Nothing about Ed's new cd is rock music. It's adult contemporary pop, which is trash.

So you are asking me to have an open mind about music, when you just called an entire genre trash?

I'm not asking you to have an open mind, I'm telling you that your perception of what really is rock music is entirely wrong.

Well in a way, it is trash .. it's about the lowest common denomonator of music along with r'n'b I feel. It's like the junk food of the music world. It's not good for you, dulls the senses, makes you lazy and complacent about music. So much of music's rich history full of music that was revolutionary and inovative, creative and deep and now we've arrived at this seemingly manafactured style music. Idol type music, a style of music purely designed to be sold and not explored, it's the style that Ed is going for and that is absolutely undeniable. Given the many many genre's out there I think that this is one genre that for the most part is total trash. Now you might like it, but that doesn't change what it is.

He did say he likes A/C, which I'm assuming means Adult Contemporary, so it's not surprising that he likes Ed's music.

Yet you insist that some of Ed's music rocks. For someone that pretends to know so much about marketing and music you'd think they'd know when they are being marketed to themselves.
