Online in 92... not a clue! live.cerf.net was the first I remember, but I dont recall the dates for that, mid 90's maybe??

Ah cool. Sorry, I misunderstood your original post. I thought you'd been following Live online since '92.
My bad.

I've always wondered how people managed to follow bands around a country when there was no internet. How did you find out about concerts outside of your city/state? Did bands publish their entire tour itinerary at the beginning of the tour? Because nowadays it seems that bands just add random shows here and there as opposed to finalising a tour schedule to start with.

No prob, I see my original wording could have been interpreted that way.

So when did all you guys/gals discover Live? Just curious.

Not sure about following bands around the country back then. If it was done, I was not part of it at the time, as I was just in high school. We heard about concerts on the radio and on TV, and at the record stores. They'd have full tour schedules posted. I guess since information didnt flow as freely as it does today, there were likely other additions that the general fan just didnt know about though. Lucky for me I was in a big city (Atlanta), and Live made a number of stops here in their early days.

Hyping a pre-set tour schedule was central to success.

My very first local band started when the internet was really beginning to take off, and it was a hell of a lot harder to let people know about anything.

Fans can be pretty amazing that way. I've some stuff about the Beatles in the early 60s and back then there were fans who knew what flights the guys would be on, etc. I don't know how they did it.

I count myself a real fan since '94, although I had heard some stuff from Mental Jewellery about '93 and really liked it. Then, due to some personal stuff, I kind of lost track of them for a year.

Ah yes those landfill clogging longboxes. Record stores wanted them so they fit better in the older vynil record holders.

Had to share:

Kevin DeBauch Ha, only $8 to see Live minus their dickhead lead singer, money well spent! Sorry guys, I just cannot jump on the "Ed" bandwagon!

The Gracious Few No worries Kevin. We are certainly not on that bandwagon. But remember something this is sooo not LIVE. It rocks much more and I think you will enjoy it

Just because The Gracious Few is usually louder than Live, doesn't mean they rock more.

Coming from someone who doesn't know the difference between loud music and rock music this is pretty gold. You keep saying Ed's music "rocks", Ed's music is loud. So far this TGF album will rock harder than any live album probably since 1994. I think given the last 16yrs haven't produced a Live album that will rock as much as this that it's a fair call to make.
