No offence Nick, but do you know anything about playing guitar yourself? Ever played it, or played in a band? If so, I guess you know, just like anyone, that abbility of playings solo's doesnt say ANYTHING about how good a guitarist is. You just have TYPE of guitarists. You have technically strong guitarists, you have amazing rythm-guitarists, and everything in between. Chad Taylor was always lead-guitarist, in like he LED the guitars. He never played much solo's in Live, remember Ed even doing the one on Shit Towne? You can be a very good (and most important passionate) guitarist without playing all the solos. I think Cahd Taylor is an amazing, PASSIONATE guitarist.

Ed gets a bad rap on this board, but his unique sounding voice was a huge part of Live. Every great Live song ever created, Ed had a huge hand in. You may not like his new music, but the rest of the band is not more talented than Ed by any means.

If you can't see how CT's decision to bring in Sean was much bigger than Chad demoting himself in your eyes, then you have bigger issues to tackle.

Hey look, another person who doesn't have a clue. Live was 4 parts, without Chad, Chad,or Pat, there's no Live. It would be nice if you'd look past your own nose and open your eyes to see that. They were 4 equal parts of Live, and when 1 part tried to take over and minimize the other 3 parts both the music and the band suffered and ultimately fell apart.

You honestly think what TGF is doing now is a quarter as good of what Live did at their best? It isn't even as good as average Candlebox.

It's apples and oranges, as the EK's new stuff should be looked at when compared to classic Live. It's hard to not make that comparison, I know I can't help myself sometimes, but Live, EK and TGF should be treated as unique bands and judged individually. It's like comparing Nirvana, Foo Fighters and Them Crooked Vultures. It's all rock, it's got a common thread (Grohl) but they're different bands with different sounds.

I personally have nothing against Nick. I will speak up though when I feel he is wrong. I am happy that you LOVE the direction that Ed went and you ENJOY his music.
BUT...you fail to see that Ed was not just Live. They lost a lot of fans when he was not including the other 3 in the songwriting etc..
